Don’t waste your money on a touchless

I absolutely love the look of this faucet but the touchless feature is useless. I’ve had several touchless faucets and this is by far the worst. I loved that the sensor was under the faucet neck vs on top or on the side. I thought by it being under the faucet neck it would help with water spotting on the neck but you can’t wash dishes or drain a hot pot of water without the sensor turning on or turning off. It senses the steam and activates. I had to manually turn off the feature I paid so much for. Kohler’s answer was to drain the pot away from the faucet, which is true but washing a dish or rinsing a dish in hot water also sets it off. Filling the sink with hot water sets it off too. Also the faucet can completely spin around so if someone accidentally turned it and the sensor activated, you’d have water all over your counter. It is a beautiful faucet and it is well made and heavy but it needs some reengineering to make it functional. If I’d known about the overly sensitive sensor activation, I’d had bought the same faucet, much cheaper, without the sensor.

Hi D6wick, my name is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm truly sorry to hear your Sensate kitchen faucet is turning off in sensor mode, when steam is present. When the sensor is operating in this way, it is usually indicative of the sensor detecting steam or debris on the sensor lens. Cleaning the lens and rotating the spout away from the steam may help. We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback, it has been sent to the appropriate team for future improvements. Please email our team directly at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com for further assistance. Thank you, -Sarah S., Kohler Customer Service

The touchless feature does not work. I used Kohler exclusively in my last full home remodel and I expected more from this brand. Very disappointed.

The touchless feature does not work. The electrical plug provided, which enables this feature, is incompatible. The wrong component was sent. Very frustrating as this feature is an $ upgrade from the standard faucet. My plumber was surprised at this oversight, given Kohler’s reputation.

We returned the faucet. It was beautiful and would have been perfect had it been much smaller. Not every kitchen needs or can handle the tall faucet. We were trying to replace a much lower pull-out faucet in our Victorian home. We needed a faucet that fits Victorian style rather than the harsh modern looking ones. We had hoped this faucet would work. Unfortunately, it is so tall that it didn’t fit under the cabinet above the sink. We had to contemplate cutting into the cabinet trim to accommodate the height of the faucet, and then decided it was a bad idea, and that the faucet was simply overpowering. Sadly, we ended up buying elsewhere. We trust Kohler but we’re disappointed at the limited selection.

Installed 2 weeks ago. Plumber showed me that pushing handle back was for hot water however, something with the system switched and now it is reversed. So weird! Also, the sensor sometimes works and sometimes shuts off water when nothing is under sensor. Very annoying as it may incorrectly go off and on when you are trying to use water. I would NOT recommend the touch less. I have a support request out to Kohler and hope they can fix this issue.

Disappointed with New Faucet

We purchased and installed a Kohler 99260-CP faucet for our kitchen sink in 2017. When it was damaged, we purchased and installed a Kohler 29709-CP faucet in December, 2022. These models are practically identical, except the new one has the touchless on/off feature. But the new one has a poor design that renders the pull-down spray difficult to use. The inside-diameter of the brass upright tube that houses the various supply tubes and penetrates the countertop behind the sink are identical between these two models. The old model used 2 smaller outside-diameter copper supply tubes, while the new one uses 2 larger outside-diameter plastic tubes with woven sheathes. With the extra smaller diameter supply tube and wires in the new model, it's nearly impossible for the hose for the pull-down spray to easily slip through the brass upright. The hose for the pull-down spray on the old model slipped very easily with the ample space left in the upright using the smaller outside-diameter supply tubes. Kohler must redesign the unit to provide its intended functionality.

Every one who cooks understands why I love my touchless faucet! It is my favorite time in my newly remodeled kitchen. Originally ordered the gold, but upon seeing it in person, realized Im not that bold. Easy return. Ended up with the vibrant polished nickel and it looks great with my white farmer's sink. Only problems, I need a touchless for the bathroom too!
nice looking faucet. Terrible hose parts.

The faucet itself functions fine most of the time. First thing that bugs me is that occasionally it won't change from one setting to another without shutting off the water first (I have soaked it in white vinegar). Second the section between the faucet head and the hose eventually leaks and makes noise. I've replaced the hose twice and it works for about a year. For the price I would expect a lot more reliability and usability. Although it looks like a nice architectural piece if it doesn't function it's just trash and expensive trash at these price points.

I just installed this faucet over the weekend after getting the electrical outlet added below the sink. The electrician also added one next to the toilet for my bidet seat while at the house as well! This faucet was easy then to install, the video was helpful. I like the design + the touchless feature is nice. I enjoy the additional spray modes it has over my last faucet. Great product.

Pricey but worth every penny. Easy install, works wonderful, looks fantastic. This unit came with a power adapter and does not use batteries like lesser brands do. Seems to read motion under the faucet much better than others. My wife loves it.

We are so sorry that we bought two of these faucets for our kitchen. They look great and function well in all respects except for the most important one. The aerator on the faucet head is so small that it barely mixes any air with the stream of water. As a result, the water stream is very strong and water splashes all over the surrounding counter and US when it hits dishes, our hands, etc. below it. We tried lowering the volume of water by adjusting the faucet handle, but that doesn't really help. So we just leave the setting on spray which produces a softer water flow that doesn't splash everywhere. We spent a lot of money on the two faucets as well as the cost of the plumber to install them. We are very disappointed that Kohler would sell a product that performs so poorly.

I bought two of these for my sinks in the kitchen. They are great looking and works well but the quality of assembly out of the box is not consistent. The neck swivels easily as you would normally expect with one faucet but with the second one, the neck is very tight and it takes quite a bit more force to make the neck swivel. As far as I can tell, the installation manual does not have any information as to whether that can be adjusted.
I love it but...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The faucet looks great. The touchless feature works and it fun to use. I am diappointed that it does not seem to pair up and work with Alexa. That was my main reason to get it so I am a bit disappointed. Maybe ther will be an upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ourchased this in preparation for our upcoming (June) kitchen and dining room remodel. We are gathering all pieces and parts and windows and such and storing them until our builder is ready to tackle the project. The packaging that the faucet and sink and all other Kohler items purchased arrived in is rock solid! THis might not matter to some, but to us, inspection of the "goods" found them to be TOTALLY protected from the average shipping gorillas.

I bought this faucet because it looked great and had the touch less feature. The touch less sensor has never worked properly. It will periodically just turn off while I’m using the faucet and I have to wave to get it to turn back on. This is annoying but now the faucet just leaks and water comes out all the seams. The area beneath the sink is flooded. Extremely disappointed as I paid top dollar!
