For some reason I thought this was going to be more like a chili replacement, but instead it was more of a spaghetti alternative and the main flavor was very tinny, acidic, canned tomato.

It felt like I was eating tomato paste. The smell is also very overpowering. It says it's supposed to be used as a side dish to skewers but I do not recommend it like that! Perhaps in a different application it might be better, but I wouldn't buy it again.

This can be warmed up in the pouch in a microwave or on the stove. The chickpeas provide protein and the tomato, spinach, onion mix adds flavor. I wish there was a bit more spinach, crunch. I added some extras of my own in the skillet and the chickpeas paired soo nicely with it since it was already seasoned and cooked with tomatoes, caramelized onion and spinach. This wasn't for me. I love garbanzos and I love most Target's Good and Gather products especially their eggplant Caponata, the best on the market. That said this pouch of garbanzos is not tasty and looks unappealing. Easy to cook and use but not for me.
