Q: Where do batteries go in engine?

A: The battery compartment is on the bottom of the engine, secured by a screw. After removing the screw, you can separate the top halves of the engine from the bottom halves of the engine to change the battery.

Q: Any way to buy a replacement Thomas ? Ours stopped working within a couple of weeks. Starts moving but stops after a second or two. I replaced batteries and still no fix

A: You’ll need 2 AAA batteries and 2 AA batteries for both the playset and engine. While try-me batteries are included, we always recommend changing them for the best performance once opening the set.

I bought this for my son’s 2nd birthday and he loves it!! He plays with it every single day multiple times throughout the day too! We haven’t had any issues with it and we’ve had it for about a month now! The only thing that is accurate from the rest of the reviews is there is no off button but it shuts off itself and doesn’t just randomly turn on so it’s not a deal breaker. I will say the one con is that it does take up a lot of space and it’s annoying, long, and hard to take apart and put it back together so keep that in mind but the kiddo loves it so we have a corner for it! If my son is happy and it entertains him it’s a win!

It was wonderful until the speaker decided to work whenever it wanted but most of the time it just lights up but no sound comes out. If I would have known that the speaker was going to go I would have spent my money on something else that my kiddo wanted for his birthday.

I purchased this toy for my 3 year old nephew who loves trains. It took about 20 minutes to put together and he played with it for hours :) When I went to take it apart to put it away, I found that is was nearly impossible to take apart! :( it took me an hour to fully take apart. Unfortunately, I will be returning it. Only purchase if you plan to keep it together.

As noted in the instructions - assembly steps marked with a red star indicate a permanent assembly. Once these parts are snapped together they are not meant to be taken apart.

So our Thomas train suddenly stopped working and I thought, we too, received a faulty train.. it wasn’t until I put Thomas back on the track that I realized he has two notches underneath that when pushed, allow him to remain on and in motion. If he isn’t on a hard surface or track, it doesn’t work —- which actually prevents it from turning/remaing on when not in use (saves lots of battery). My kid loves this track anr and e love that it’s compatible with all other Thomas tracks.

My toddler absolutely loved this toy but the train won’t move. It worked the first day and then just stopped working it won’t finish the automated messages either. We changed batteries and even took h to em out to let it reset and it’ll work for a minute then just stops. Really disappointing.
