I’ve had this bike rack for years. It’s not super heavy like some racks and the bikes feel secure. Love the locking pin. Easy to use. Only thing I’d change are the gray knobs. I’ve lost a few and can’t find replacements. Rack is still functional though.

I bought this rack a year ago. The first time we used it one of the wheel trays broke. Contacted support and they sent me one to replace it. Same thing happened last week - a wheel tray broke. This time support will not do anything - even though the rack is still under warranty. Support rep stated "Unfortunately, we would not be able to send this under warranty since wheel trays are not covered". So obviously they know these wheel tray's are poorly constructed - since they are not covering them under the warranty. We have used the rack less then 10 times in less than a year, and already 2 of the wheel trays have broken. I highly advise to stay away from this rack or any of the racks that use these wheel trays since they will break and you will be replacing them at your own expense.

Great rack and significantly cheaper than competitors but this model doesn’t fit a full 29in medium frame bike.

Could use a longer strap for ebikes and maybe faster response time instead of several days but the product is good

I purchased the Freedom 2 after another biker recommended it. They had owned their's for seven years. Right out of the box I could tell it was very well made. It looks great on our Outback and is very solid and stable. Customer service is top notch!

After researching many options, I am very satisfied with my purchase of this bike rack. It is easy to attach and remove from the hitch, not too bulky, well made and sturdy. My bike remained stable and secure even while driving down the interstate and through 50 MPH wind gusts. Highly recommend!

Wide Variety of Bikes - Check your fat bike wheel

I had this rack for a few years, replacing a roof rack prior. It is very good, works with a wide variety of bikes, and I have never had an issue with scratching of a bike frame during transport. Only miss - I have since gotten into fat biking and a) had to purchase the larger tire base, and b) after doing so, realized my wheelbase is over 48 inches. The rack is 2-3 inches too narrow to hold my bike. Trying to buy a replacement bar to widen it right now.

First bike rack purchased and wanted a platform hitch rack. So far, very stable and easy to use. Only wish it would fold ups when not in use, then I'd give 5 stars.

Rock solid & secure bike carrier

I have used this rack on my Tundra to carry my classic Nishiki, was somewhat worried from reading reviews about it's stability. After using it a few times, clearly the negative reviews were a result of user error. This rack is rock solid, hardly vibrated at all at highway speeds (70+ mph) as well as somewhat potholed paved roads. I did not travel non-paved roads so can't address that, but this securely held my 35 y/old baby.

I was scheduled to bring the grandkids back from North Dakota along with their bikes. A bike rack would be there for me to use. It turned out to be a Saris Freedom 2. What a pleasant surprise to have such a user-friendly and bike-friendly rack. As soon as I got home, I bought the Freedom 2 for myself. My previous rack was one that the bikes would hang from. This caused damage to the bike's finish and also required a special cross bar for my wife's bike (step-through frame). Not so with the Freedom 2. The bikes are mounted quickly and easily and sit rock steady during driving. I ride a recumbent which has always been a problem with other style bike racks. But with the Freedom 2, I can take the seat off my SWB recumbent and mount it and my wife's bike with no problem.

I love my Freedom 2 Bike Rack. Initially, I put my bike on in the wrong direction and had to use bungi cords to keep it in place. Thankfully, I went to my bike shop and they showed me the correct direction and now can fasten my step-thru bike with the center strap and not use bungi cords.

This bike rack is high quality, sturdy and so easy to connect to car. I’m thrilled with purchase. We recently took a 5 hour road trip on rough roads and every time I looked in my rear view mirror I felt confident that all was well with my bikes.

Recent buy, have only used a few times so far but it handles our ebikes much better than our old rack. Bikes fit solid and secure. Still too early to see if it gets 5 stars.

I purchased this rack and have used it once. I placed the rack in my camper hitch with a 28" Raleigh & 24" Schwinn bikes on the rack. The rack is great. The problem is with the hitch bar. It is weak. I made a 230 mile round trip camping with the bikes in the rack. There is definite weakness on the hitch bar and it is starting to bend downward due to weak material and bend.

I bought this bike rack because of its light weight. I am a 73 year old woman and cannot handle a heavy rack. For that matter lifting a 55 lb e-bike is not easy for me. The rack is easy to install. Also, it does not block my backup camera like my excellent, but very heavy Yakima rack does. I took it for its maiden voyage today and it held up fine. But, I am worried about the plastic screws and plastic wheel holders. I really hope they hold up. I understand that to keep the weight down plastic must be used just like Nikon does with many of their lenses.
Rack is unreliable!

Disappointed - 4 years ago

I bought this rack and the third time I used it the bike on the outside fell off and was swinging from side to side on an Interstate Highway. I bought the rack because of the ease of lifting the bike on the rack, but something about the design needs to be addressed. Another person that gave a review of your product said the exact same thing happened to him. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I showed it to the bicycle dealer I bought it from and he was stunned as well as to how this happened.
