Q: Can the handlebards lock to be stationary?

  • A: Hi Lisa - Yes the Sidewinder comes with a one piece handlebar that attaches to the stem tube with 2 easy to fasten screws. This securely locks the handlebars and prevents any rattling when riding like some other scooters. Hope this helps!

Fun Scooter. We ended up giving this one to a friend. It seemed a little small for our youngest who is 9. She says he loves playing with it at the park and at home. Its pretty sturdy and just a good basic scooter

Deck lights are a little temperamental, however, a little pice of foam between the battery and battery box lid held the batteries in place nicely and allowed the deck lights to stay on. Apart from this it looks really cool and my daughter loves it.

The scooter does not light up on the deck like it’s supposed to. The battery compartment is very bad. You can’t even get the batteries in correctly and then once they are sort of in there they don’t touch the end so there’s no way they are going to work. Very disappointing! There’s also absolutely no mention of the light up deck or how to access and install batteries in the directions. Do not recommend, I’ll be returning this for something else. This was a Christmas present for my son and now I have to return it and find something else.

Cool scooter but LEDs don't stay on.

Cool scooter and seems sturdy enough for my 10 year old. However, like another reviewer, the battery compartment for the LEDs are horrible. The LEDs work at first when you put the batteries in but once you flip it over the batteries aren't held in place well enough to keep the LED straps working. For this much money, it should at least hold the 3 AA batteries correctly. Returning it but unsure if we get another one as it seems it's a manufacturing defect.

The Melo Side Winder Light Up Quad Scooter features a unique duel pivot hanger technology that merges surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding together. What really stands out about this scooter is its bright green color, led lights on the deck, and light up wheels. If you press the red button on the bottom there are 5 colors that you can choose from. This scooter frame is made out of high quality aluminum keeping it durable and lightweight. The four wheel design gives more stability and control. I appreciate its detail to safety featuring a duel back braking system and adjustable handle bars. This scooter will definitely catch attention having everyone asking where you got this awesome scooter from. I would definitely recommend.

Pretty pleased with this scooter. I found assembly to be very easy, and straightforward. I did have to tighten the quick-release clamp a bit, but it hasn't loosened. The sidewinder part, just means that the deck rotates as you turn the handle. I completely missed that the deck lit up for a week, but once I noticed and added the batteries (3 AA) my son was overjoyed. You manually switch that on, and can select from a few different colors. The sad part is, that it's a very cheap battery compartment, and makes the lights not stay on without A LOT of fiddling. And even then, sometimes as soon as my son steps on it, it'll turn off, and he's under 60#, so well within the weight limit. One the wheel lights doesn't light up as frequently either. Small enough that it's easy to transport, but my 50" son is a great fit. His 58" sister is a little too tall, but she still can use it.

This is so cool. My 8 year old loves it and i love it. The wheels light up making it easy to ride when the sun starts going down. We love how it moves to the sides. The breaks don't work as well as I would have thought. Love the color.

This scooter is pretty decent. Honestly, better than I expected. I really love that it tilts left and right. It rides smoothly and the grip on the handle bars is good. The color is nice and bright. The kids really love it.

Perfect for Night Walks

I'm a mom of two, and we love taking night walks by the boardwalk in our beach town, but I have pretty bad eyesight, so I’m always a little nervous when the kids want some freedom. This light-up scooter has been awesome! The LED lights are bright enough that I can easily keep an eye on them while they ride around. I already know it's going to be a huge hit for Halloween when we’re out walking for miles going from house to house. They’ll feel super cool, and I’ll feel way better knowing they’re easy to spot in the dark. Totally recommend!
