I should have taken photo uniform browning, perfect Belgium Waffle. Crispy, brown, the way I like them. Substituted Applesauce for oil 1:1 and still no sticking. No oil spray either.

My son has an older Krupps waffle maker which I used to have, and the old one is noticeably better. We did a side by side comparison, and the old one created lovely brown waffles in 5 minutes. This model’s beeper went off after about 5 minutes, but the waffles were barely colored and soft. After another 4 minutes they had more color, but not to golden brown. Also, this model makes much thinner waffles even though they measure the same. We tried 3 different recipes. This model’s beeper is 1200 watts, and the older is 1400 watts, which might explain it. I will return it.

Unhappy with this product. Have only used it a hand full of times and even on the highest setting (5) it does not brown the waffles. They come out pale and soft. I’ve tried different recipes to no avail.

THe hinge just broke. Didn't drop it, no trauma. warranty is only 1 year so cannot get it fixed for shoddy materials that don't last. just checked wirecutter and this model is no longer recommended. Will buy cuisinart as a replacement.

We have had the maker about 3 years. Never tried washing in dishwasher, but we use spray oil and most things come right out while cooking requiring a quick wash and rinse. Our favorite is canned cinnamon rolls although today's waffles with butterscotch chips were a hit. Thanks for the fantastic product.

Yesterday I got this waffle mix, so I made it today for breakfast. The waffles were really good, I mean amazing. The chocolate was good, and if you add syrup and butter on top it becomes better. The only problem was with the batter. It was too viscous when I followed the directions. Adding 1/4 cups of milk more seemed to be what made it good enough.

Made decent waffles for the 3.5 years we owned the waffle iron. The batter would often stick to the plates and separate, even with spray-on oil. Making waffles side-by-side other brand irons, this maker took 3 times as long to cook one batch. The other brands did not need oil, while this one did. The power light quit working around the time the 2 year warranty expired. Today, the waffle iron had to be trashed. The kitchen filled with smoke and a burning smell. Hubby unscrewed the plate to find a wire had burnt. We will NOT buy this brand again!

This waffle iron does what it’s supposed to do but we bought it specifically because of the removable Dishwasher safe grid plates. Tired of scraping waffle bits and overflow out of the crevices of our old maker, this was supposed to offer the easy cleanup we were dreaming of. We make waffles just about every other Saturday morning and have had this maker for 8 months and the plates are oxidizing or something. This photo of my hands is right after I pulled them from the dishwasher to put them back into the maker for storing away.

I bought this waffle maker about 3 years ago. After one year, the beeper started malfunctioning. I had it replaced under warranty, which was nice, but now the replacement waffle maker is doing the same thing. There seems to be a design defect with this waffle maker that causes the beeper to go bad, probably due to moisture from the steam.
Makes good waffles but....

I am very happy with this Belgian Waffle maker. Excellent features make it easy to prepare a large batch of perfect waffles to your personal taste. Temperature control with alarm for example. I make potato,vegetable waffle latkes! Krisp and perfect without deep frying. The non- stick coating works very well (just spray on a bit of oil). I just wish I could find out what material the non-stick coating is made of as I could not find it anywhere it product info?
