Q: Does the "new improved formula" address the benzene concerns? Most name brands recalled dry shampoos over this issue, but DeMert never did, but have a class action law suit against them :/

The fragrance is very strong and the main reason to use this product is to absorb oil, but it doesn’t do a great job of promoting texture or oil absorption. I think there are other options that make more sense. I wanted to like this but I’ve used better versions of dry shampoo and I cannot recommend this one. My hair type is long, fine, and thick (lots of fine hair).

It refreshes my roots without leaving a white cast, and it gives my hair that perfect “beachy” tousled look. I love how lightweight it feels and how easy it is to work through my hair. The only downside for me is the scent—it's just a bit too strong and not quite my vibe. If the fragrance was a little more subtle or different, this would easily be a five-star product. On non-wash days I prefer to use a dry shampoo, so huge perk in this one for me since it doubles as both a dry shampoo and a style extender. I really like the oomf you get with this texturizing version, it gives me a clean yet tousled look. Plus, the coconut scent is seriously so good…I have literally gotten compliments on the smell of this in my hair and when I mention it’s NYM they are always shocked the brand isn’t something $$$ like Drybar. You don’t need to lay down extra bucks for this kind of a product when drugstore brands are killing it. I have tried LivingProof, Drybar, Amika….so many, and this brand either matches their performance or beats it.
