Q: This mat bleeeds a bit of color when wet. WIll this stop over time? Can I rinse it with something to stop the color bleeding?

A: It is suggested to rinse the mat before use, especially in a shower area, as this will help to remove any sawdust residue that may cause color to bleed on the first use. There is a small notice inside the box suggesting this. Thanks.

Q: can this mat be used inside the shower? is it slippery when wet?

A: The mat is not "non-slip", however teak is not naturally slippery when wet (which is one of the reasons why it has been used on the decks of ships for centuries). The surface the mat is placed on also makes a big difference. Polished marble is going to allow the mat to move around a lot more than say rough stone.

A: The mat has small, round rubber pads at various places, typically about 10 inches apart. But to answer your question, the underside of the mat doesn't have a full rubber backing. Thanks.

Q: What are the exact colors of this mat? Are the darker colors slate or black?

A: The mat is made of natural, unfinished teak, to while there is a bit of color variation the color is probably best described as a tawny golden color. Over time the color will lighten, but can be restored with the sparing use of teak oil. Thanks.

This is not gray as advertised. I bought this same mat in 2019 and it was shades of gray like the photo. Just ordered a fresh one on 2023, and this is now a brown and white mat. It is heavy and well made, but the color is totally off. My attached picture is my 2019 vs 2023 mat for reference. Hope this helps you!

I love the unique colors of the tiles; very spa-like. The tiles are small and have a low profile so that I don't stub my toes when I get out of the shower. The tiles clean easily by wiping with a cloth.

This is even more beautiful in person!!! And it feels amazing under your feet. I though it might be a bit rigid or maybe even slippery but it is not... at all!!! I wish I had more spaces in my home for more of these! PERFECT FOR A BEACH HOUSE!!!

Beautiful and sturdy craftsmanship. I ordered two so I could lay them side by side and create the look of one long mat. The second one has more muted purple tones, which I absolutely love. I just wish the first one did, too. Not a big problem, but if you are planning to lay them side by side, note that no two will have exactly the same tones.

Just got this mat. It is lovely and it has a unique personality in that each piece of wood has a slight pattern making the overall effect perfect. I am thrilled I ordered this esp since the company that makes it appears to be a small one that helps give women a job they can do from home. I wish they made other products too
