Q: I bought a 12 inch thick mattress for the bottom before we decided to purchase these bunk beds...has anyone used a mattress this thick without issue? (I know that they recommend a 6-8 inch mattress)
A: Shannon. Thank you for your interest in the Avery Bunk Bed. We recommend that you do not use a 12" mattress. We suggest that you do not use any mattress thicker than 8" with this product.
submitted byLinon Home Decor - 1 year agoBrand expertA: Box said you cannot use a foam mattress. Slats are too far apart. This wasn't obvious until after we purchased.
submitted byJane - 1 year agoA: A foam mattress worked fine. We had a 10" one from our previous bed that worked, but there was not room for my 4-year-old to sit up straight on it. We got a 6" one that now works great
