Allerease Cotton Fresh Waterproof Allergen Barrier Zippered Mattress Protector

This is the second set we’ve purchased. We use them at home (my kids have allergies) and also in our rentals and they’ve been great. They are waterproof and don’t make all of those terribly crinkly noises!

The box says that it fits up to 9” mattress even though pictures say 14” Also, it feels like more plastic snd less like cotton.

Ripped the second time I changed my sheets since putting it on. It has paper-like quality.

I bought this mattress protector because it was advertised as 100% cotton. I don’t need it to be waterproof, we don’t have bed wetters in our home and we keep temps cool at night. I’m trying my best to take care of my health and avoid unnecessary plastics where I can. Keeping a healthy, natural fiber barrier between my body and my very toxic mattress is important to me. This is the second mattress cover I’ve purchased that was advertised as 100% cotton on the packaging and in the description, only to read on the label after purchasing and opening, that the entire product is polyester and polyurethane with a sheer, poor quality cotton layer over the top of one of six sides. Polyester is not only one of the worst materials for your long-term health, it also makes you sweat and feel itchy. Yes it’s resistant and long lasting, but cotton, wool, bamboo and other natural fibers are better at controlling your temperature and resisting bacteria, fungus and mold. The 2 stars are because if you like polyester in your home then this cover is good, it fit the mattress well, with a little room to spare around our standard mattress, and it was easy to put on and zip up. It seems well constructed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always used slip-cover style mattress protectors in the past so I was a little apprehensive about using a zippered version. However, even though I did have to put it all the way around the mattress, this was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I went on and came off easily! It doesn't have a chemically smell when laying on it nor was it super noisy when the kids laid on it. It also cleans super easy in the wash and protected the bed well when the youngest had a nighttime accident.

Con: it's a little tough to get on the mattress, especially if doing it alone. It will get there, it just might take you a little longer. And the fit is not as good as I would have hoped; a little bunchy in some places. Pro: It's of good quality. It has protected my mattress pretty well so far. I have a big dog that sleeps in the bed sometimes, as well, and she has not punctured it in any way. We don't have a lot of spills so I haven't been able to test that functionality. It might just work better for some than for others.

It is great at protecting the mattress with the zipper ensuring the entire mattress is covered. It fits well and was easy to put on. I have been very pleased with this mattress protector.

Nothing made it through to my mattress, thanks to this mattress protector. It fits great, looks nice, and was easy to put on. I have quite a bit of difficulty with allergies, so I am happy to know that it offers that protection as well. Dust is one of my major allergens, so anything I can do to aid in getting a more restful sleep and clearer breathing is worth it, in my book.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always struggled with allergies but never thought to cover my mattress to keep from having an issue. This is easy to put on, with a little help. i love the extra added protection too with it being water proof. The cotton top is a great feature but I will say the rest is a tiny bit noisy. I haven’t had near as many issues since putting this on my mattress as usual. It also washed well following the care instructions.
