submitted byGelinho - 4 years agoA: The dimensions in the previous answers are OUTSIDE dimensions. The bottom of the container on the inside is only 13 1/4" x 19 1/2".

Q: Can this be used for a cheap hamster cage, or should I use a different bin? I need one that is nice and big and fits a hamster comfortably.
A: Thank you for your question. Sterilite manufactures products for general household storage use, using only high quality FDA food safe grade plastics that are non-toxic. We do not necessarily recommend it for housing any type of pet.

submitted byCaptain - 3 years agoA: I use the 110 quart version of this for my hamster. It is deep enough to use without the lid, even with bedding going 8 inches up so she can burrow and tunnel. She loves it.

Q: Is this protected against ocassional moisture, droplets, or rain?
A: Hello Gaziz, the Sterilite 66 Qt ClearView Latch Box is not waterproof, air tight or bug proof, but the cover snaps on securely to the base to keep contents protected.

If using outdoors, we suggest you cover it with a tarp, store it under a roof, or inside a garage, shed or other building to help prevent drying out from sun exposure, and to keep moisture from penetrating the unit. Our products have not been specifically tested for various weigh potential and we suggest consumers use good judgment and not overload their item This could cause distortion or eventual damage.

Q: Safe for freezer food storage?
A: Hello Lindees, the Sterilite 66 Qt ClearView Latch Box is made of FDA food safe grade plastics that are non-toxic. These plastics do not contain PVC's, Latex, Teflon, Phthalates chemicals, fungicides, Bishphenol A (BPA), or antibacterial chemicals. Nor do we use them in the manufacturing process of our items. The storage box can withstand temperatures of as high as 180 degrees Fahrenheit and as low as 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
