Seriously, this brand has won me over! I've already been trying out the Avène Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream on my hands and arms, and the feeling is incredible. The formula is so rich and thick, you really only need a tiny bit. At first, I thought it might feel a little greasy after applying, but it melts into the skin and leaves this unbelievably silky smooth finish instead! It's unlike any other lotion I've ever used. Knowing this cream is specifically for skin repair, I can already feel a difference after only three uses! Plus, it's dermatologist-approved and accepted by the eczema community, so you know it's gentle and effective, even for sensitive skin and children. I just purchased this crème to help with restoring my skin barrier, as it was one of the products that was recommended. Upon opening the tube, liquid poured out of the tube. I immediately tried shaking the tube vigorously with no help. I tried squeezing the tube to help mix the product, which also didn’t help. I then googled for an answer and found the following: Avène Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream, due to its sensitive formula, can become watery if exposed to temperatures below 32°F (0°C) during shipping or storage. This separation doesn't compromise the product's effectiveness, and it remains safe for use. You can simply squeeze out the excess water and use the cream as usual, as the active ingredients like zinc are still present. So upon researching an explanation I squeezed the excess liquid and continued to use the product as intended and it works perfectly fine. It left my skin extremely soft. Only time will tell if it helps with restoring my skin barrier. However, I wanted to leave a review with answers to something that seems to be a common problem with this particular product and hopefully help other consumers.

I was really excited to try this product for my extremely sensitive skin. It has great reviews online. To my surprise when I opened the cap, water spilled everywhere. I finally got a little lotion out and did try the product. It was very greasy feeling on my skin. This doesn't seem normal and I was disappointed especially due to the price.

I have Neurovascular Rosacea with 0 heat intolerance so my skin is extremely sensitive and no barrier. I have a difficult time finding any products that don't irritate my skin. I was desperate to find something. I was so relieved when I tried Cicalfate+. There was absolutely no irritation and it leaves a barrier that leaves my skin feeling protected.

It works very well, it makes my hands feel like…butter? I don’t know! But the day it arrived, I put a dab of it on the back of my hand, rubbed it in, and immediately, involuntarily said, “oh, I’m glad I got this” out loud…to myself. If you shave your legs and then rub this on them…you will have the most buttery smooth legs in all of the world, probably. It’s a bit heavy for my face, but it works well for itchy or irritated skin. I made my grandma use some one day, and she’s about the pickiest person alive and usually uses anti-itch lotion…it worked so well that she requested to use it again over her usual lotion. If you knew my grandma, you would know how much of a compliment that is to this product. Anyway, I have very sensitive skin and I have used Avene products for years now because they work well and don’t cause reactions like the majority of other products. And I trust them. Long story short…this is a quality buy.

What is going on with all of the water in the tube?? I can’t mix it with the cream. It pours out of the tube if I lay it on the counter without the lid on. I have been using this for years, and it’s done wonders when my five year old has eczema or any dry skin condition, and it’s the only cream that she says doesn’t burn when applied. This has been so disappointing. Please say a bad batch was made and we can return this product.

I've been using the Avene Restorative Protective Cream for over a year, and it's been a holy grail for my sensitive skin—rich, soothing, and fragrance-free. However, I recently repurchased it and noticed a significant difference. The texture is much more watery, and it has an unusual smell that wasn't there before. It doesn't feel the same on my skin either. I'm not sure if the formula was changed, but if so, it's unfortunately not working for me the way it used to. I’d love to know if this is a temporary issue or a permanent reformulation.

Always loved this product. This past purchase it was horrible . Watery bluish liquid pours out every time you open the tube. Cream is watery and consistency is not like it used to be.

I have used this for a few years for my dry skin and eczema which is worse in extreme temperature shifts which we’ve experienced this winter. I did receive some watery tubes a couple of months ago, but they still worked better than anything I have used before. My recent shipment of cicalfate was back to the normal texture. It’s great on your hands and feet every night before bed for dryness.
