A: Hello Erin, the Brightroom 1.25 Bu Laundry Basket is made of Polypropylene plastic, a high quality FDA food safe grade plastic that is non-toxic. These plastics do not contain PVC's, Latex, Teflon, Phthalates chemicals, fungicides, Bishphenol A (BPA), or antibacterial chemicals. Nor do we use them in the manufacturing process of our items. The tote was designed for general household use, it is not waterproof and does not contain UV protection. Rain, snow, and other weather can get into the storage box.

I have sooo many laundry baskets. With children, they good not only for clothes, but toys as well. I was buying baskets from the dollar store with the understanding that they break regularly. I discovered these baskets recently and for about 75 cents more my baskets don’t break! They are thicker than the dollar store baskets and can be loaded down with more clothes without breaking. I even use them for baby shower gifts in place of gift bags and dress them up with tissue paper and bows. Practical, especially for someone who believes you can never have too many baskets!

I keep lots of these around the house. They are great for laundry, but I also use them when picking up around the house. I will have a basket for each room. If an item belongs in another room it goes into the basket and then when I’m all done picking up I can just take the basket to that room and put everything away.
