However, the tick is so quiet that you can barely hear it unless your were to be directly in front of the clock or if the area where the clock is located is quiet. Lisa, I actually have the black version of this clock here in my office and although it ticks it's definitely not loud at all. In response to to your question, I would say that the color of the clock is more of a teal color than a turquoise color.
