Thank goodness for this alternative. I don't need the extra laundry of cotton placemats, even though I like the look. And I really didn't want to use cork, or children's plastic placemats. These look really chic, laid flat for me right out of the box (no curled edges), and will be so easy to keep clean in the long run. Busy mom win!
