After about 3 uses, the color disappeared on a 2-inch diameter area of the kettle body. Instead of red, the spot is metallic. This kettle appears to be cheaply made.

It’s very cute, a perfect size. It whistles and heats up quickly, but I almost burnt my hand grabbing the handle. I required a pot holder to hold it. This is why I only gave it a 3-Star rating. I wanted a kettle that was safe to hold.

I liked the size and look of the teapot. But I was very disappointed that the “whistling teapot” did not whistle - at all. Sometimes it’s on the burner far longer than it needs to be because I’m not alerted the water is hot.

I purchased the kettle in red to match my kitchen. It was time for a new Kettle, and this is perfect. Yes the whistle works ^_^ and I appreciate the "stay-cool" feature of the handle so I don't accidentally burn myself. I was also lucky to find it on sale.

Does it boil water? Yes. Does it whistle? Hmm…could be argued that it does, in fact, whistle after a very long time and with enough water in it. Does it lose its color? … Wait, what?? After a few uses I thought I noticed some discoloration, but chalked it up to an uneven paint job. But after using it just now, this extreme spot of discoloration appeared. Now I’m positive I’m not seeing things. This spot was NOT there before this morning’s boil!
