Gold finish fades in the dishwasher. I’ve had this for a month and they’re all silver now.

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment. This flatware set is designed to maintain the finish for years to come. However, there are a few specific care needs that need to be considered. Discoloring can be a sign of detergent not fully removed when washing the product which ultimately can lead to pitting. Citric and abrasive cleaning agents will also damage the flatware. Although dishwasher safe, the ideal method for washing any flatware is by hand. Wash your flatware as soon as possible after use. Some foods can promote staining/corrosion. Avoid soaking stainless flatware in water for an extended period. Avoid air drying if possible. Using a soft cloth to dry is beneficial. Do not wash your stainless flatware with any abrasive or acidic cleaning agents and do not soak flatware overnight. Do not use steel wool pads or detergent/polish compounds that scratch stainless steel or the coating. Make sure the flatware is handled gently; Item to item contact can result in scratching, chafing and dulling of the PVD finish. If you require further information, feel free to contact us at info@cambridgehome.com using REVIEW RESPONSE in the subject line of the email.

These were gorgeous to start but started loing their gold finish within a month. I bought 8 place settings and almost none are still gold. I threw in one knife to my picture to show what the forks should look like. Absolutely worthless to me now as I have a mixture of finishes.

Really terrible. Within a few weeks the gold on all of these have come off. In the past, another set I got from target took almost a year. Just seek these as silver flatware, there aren’t worth the money

We would like to explain why this sometimes occurs. Occasionally we see a bad batch sneak through our quality checking, although this is very rare, it is a possibility. Sometimes in the finishing process, minor surface defects get brushed over making it very difficult to spot when checking. These minor defects then cause trouble in the washing process. Once the surface is broken the corrosion resistance is compromised and black/brown marks or rusting can occur. If there is anything else we can do to help, please let us know info@cambridgehome.com

I really loved these when I bought them, but the gold finish has washed off the majority of these utensils. I spent a lot of money to purchase enough sets for 12 table settings, and I am extremely disappointed with the quality.

Poor Finish - 2 years ago
We got 3 sets of these as we thought they looked great. Being the higher cost we assumed higher quality. Turns out the gold just wears off within a year of regular use and cleaning in a dishwasher. We do not soak these nor do we use abrasive scrubbers of any sort. It seems no matter how careful you are with these, in our experience, the gold wears off. As appealing as they were when we bouth them we are not happy with the longevity of the finish.

I’m not sure why people are saying the gold washes off… I’ve had mine since December and throw them in the dishwasher constantly with 3 kids and they still look great! They were a great update to our kitchen!

The gold was more yellow that I was anticipating, but they’ve grown on me quite a bit! They’re holding up really well as we are following the care instructions listed on the box. So far I really love them, very sturdy and heavy but also clean design so they feel very fancy!

The Gold simply washes off. I bought these the day before Christmas and more than half of the set has lost most of the gold color.

This flatware set is stainless steel and is designed to maintain the finish for years to come however, there are a few specific care needs that we want to share below for preserving all fine flatware and cutlery for years to come. Discoloring is typically a sign of detergent not fully removed when washing the product, which ultimately leads to pitting. Citric and abrasive cleaning agents will also damage the flatware. -Wash your flatware as soon as possible after use. Some foods can promote staining/corrosion. -Avoid soaking stainless flatware in water for an extended period. -Avoid air drying if possible. Using a soft cloth to dry is beneficial. -Do not use steel wool pads or detergent/polish compounds that scratch stainless steel or the coating. -Knives are especially vulnerable as the surface becomes more sensitive to rusting.
