Q: How do you open the bottom cap to remove the pull tab from the battery?

A: Just figured it out. You need to pull from the solar panel side and pull the whole unit up and out. Then pull the tab and slide solor panel back down.

Q: Same as above questions, that weren't answered. How do you open the clear plastic bottom to be able to pull the tab that activates the battery? The tab is not sticking out of the fixture.

A: Hello jvh - The Product manual included with the item shows a line drawing of how to pull the Top cap (the component with the solar panel) apart from the Cage (lower component with the two mounting holes). Once the top cap is separated from the cage, you should see the tab to pull and also should see the battery access door. I hope this helps. - Nikitha

A: Pull the solar panel part of the unit up and the whole piece comes up and gives you access to the tab.

The instructions do include a diagram in the top right of how to separate the two halves, but don't have any written words pointing it out. I took a photo as I think that's what is most confusing about this product. You don't need to remove the clear plastic shield like you might expect.

I’ve had these up for a few weeks and they’re still pretty great. They’re so light, I used double stick tape instead of drilling holes into the cinder blocks outdoors. It’s rained and it’s been super sunny, and they’re all still hanging. I wish the light was just a tad bit brighter but honestly these are pretty great. I’m glad I bought a bunch on sale.

Our garage wall in the backyard was too dark and these added a soft glow. They’re quick to install and if you put up several, make a drill template out of thin cardboard to make your life easier. The lights aren’t as bright in the photos but still illuminate just enough. It would’ve been nice if these came in white or a tan color as well.

Our front porch steps are very dark at night, and we were looking for a low cost and easy way to light them without having to leave the porch lights on and attracting bugs/insects. Two simple screws; hardest part was making sure the lights were aligned/level. Lights last well into the night. Highly recommended... QUICK WAY OF GETTING LIT!!!!!!!!

I purchased two of these lights in 2021 and two more in 2022 to use as accent lights on the brick wall which surrounds our patio. They work perfectly despite being installed under a 100-year-old oak tree which shades the patio. Each light receives between 4-6 hours of full sun each day during the summer, and none have ever failed to light. True to target’s quality “play less, expect more,” these little lights add lots of ambiance to my garden while, I hope, sensitively deterring raccoons from using my garden as latrine before climbing the oak tree. Great purchase! Thank you Target.
