Q: With the vinyl backing, is this rug waterproof so you can set snowy boots on it without it seeping though to the floor.

Something terrible must have happened to this rug - the one I purchased smelled so strongly of burning rubber it was unbearable to have in the house for more than one minute. The smell was noticeable on the ride home while the rug was still wrapped up, but I thought it was from a car fire or accident on the highway. It is so awful I may just throw it away and forgo the $17 refund.

This rug has a horrendous oil/gas smell! I placed it by my front door (inside) and left for the evening. When I got back, my whole house needed to be aired out!

I ordered 2 and they came wrapped in plastic. I left them like that until the next day and I noticed a bad smell. When I opened the plastic it became clear where the smell was coming from. These smell so strongly of gasoline. I will be returning.

This is a pretty basic rug for outdoors. I use it for my front door entry (where I have A LOT of traffic). Does not hold moisture, which is good. And, here was the surprise for me... it is super soft! I was pleasantly surprised! :)

It should say industrial or auto shop Matt for outside. I returned to the store and got refund on the shipping. It was only 6.00 so I feel that the shipping should have been refunded as well
