Caroline holds a deep secret. Living in 1727 and 1927 simultaneously, each night she goes to sleep in one life and wakes up in the other. In search of answers to her unique existence, Caroline stumbles upon a letter from her mother hinting at her own experiences as a time-crosser, sending Caroline on a daring quest to uncover the truth. In 1727, Caroline disguises herself as a cabin boy and joins a ship sailing for the Bahamas, her mother's last known location, where she crosses paths with a ruthless but handsome pirate and is caught in a web of secrets, deception, and unexpected alliances. In 1927 St. Paul, Minnesota, Caroline grapples with her other life as the daughter of a renowned preacher. Her two older brothers have fallen prey to the corruption rampant during Prohibition, and Caroline struggles to keep their involvement hidden to save her father's career. As her search for answers about her time-crossing leads her to the dangerous yet exciting world of speakeasies, Caroline enlists the help of a childhood friend who is now a police officer. But with her family's future at risk and their loyalties tested, Caroline faces a life-altering decision that could reshape her destiny.

This is the fourth book of a series that was supposed to end at three so you know that a winning formula has been found! Author Gabrielle Meyer created magic with the first three Timeless books but this new story has exceeded all of my expectations. Caroline's quest to learn more about her mother sends her on a time-traveling adventure that she doesn't understand. Meyer's vivid depiction of Caroline's journeys between 1727 and 1927 is amazing and her portrayal of Caroline's confusion is both intriguing and heartbreaking! Across the Ages is a mesmerizing story with romance, adventure, mystery, and faith but the history lover in me was especially thrilled to learn the many historical details that Meyer shared. The character of Caroline's mother was based on two real people, Anne Bonny, a female pirate, and Bonnie Parker, of Bonnie and Clyde fame. She also used evangelist Billy Sunday as the inspiration for Caroline's father. and there's a mention of Charles Lindberg also. I was familiar with Parker. Sunday. and Liindgerg, but Anne Bonny sent me on a search to learn more about piracy. Who knew that pirates would be so enjoyable in the plot of Christian romance? I was never a fan of time travel until I started reading this series. If you're looking for inspiring stories that share the timeless messages of faith, hope, and forgiveness, grab a copy of this book, along with the first three in the Timeless series. I highly recommend Across the Ages to fans of historical Christian fiction. I received a complimentary book courtesy of Bethany House Publishers through Interviews & Reviews for my honest opinion.

Another fabulous book in the 𝓣𝓲𝓶𝓮𝓵𝓮𝓼𝓼 series! Before I opened this gorgeous cover, I wondered how in the world the time travel element in this fourth book could feel new and fresh. Oh goodness—I needn’t have wondered! There are secrets and searches. Pirates and preachers. And binge-worthy plots in 1727 & 1927 that will make your head spin and your heart melt! Caroline struggles with identity. Her quest for truth and her desire to set aside others’ expectations and live a life of her own choosing carry this theme from beginning to end. I really like Caroline’s personality, and I can’t help but love the woman-has-to-disguise-herself-as-a-boy trope! I was definitely rooting for one timeline over the other pretty early on, and my guess is that most readers will feel the same. I received a paperback copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Across the Ages is another brilliant addition to the awesome Timeless series by a super gifted storyteller who once again makes time-crossing believable! As with all the other books in the series, I was completely immersed in this story from beginning to end. Imagine living two lives simultaneously—one on a pirate ship in the Caribbean in 1727 and the other in the USA in 1927! The twist in this fourth story is that Caroline Reed/ Baldwin starts out with no idea why she has what she considers a “curse” and is clueless as to how it works. The story that unfolds is her desperate search for answers about her past, present, and future. Two well-paced storylines, wonderful characters, amazing history, sweet romance, and valuable faith lessons with themes of redemption and forgiveness combine to make an unputdownable, inspiring read. This book joins the other three books of the series on my Best Reads Ever list! I highly recommend this book and the series as must reads for dual-timeline, time travel, and/or historical romance fans! I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Bethany House Publishers through Interviews & Reviews for my honest opinion.
