Rally the troops! Advance Wars is marching to Nintendo Switch

Command an army in strategic, turn-based combat as a tactical adviser for the Orange Star Army. Your expertise is needed as you move land, air, and naval units across the battlefield. Take down enemy squads and capture towns and bases to secure victory and keep the peace. Keep an eye on the game-changing terrain and weather as you lead a variety of units across multiple maps. This remake features two campaigns that cover the events of the Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising games!

Fight alongside capable Commanding Officers

Defend your land with the help of Andy, Max, Sami, and other Commanding Officers, each with their own specialties and CO Powers. Andy can repair units, while Sami can boost the abilities of troops. Your opponents can use CO abilities of their own too! Throughout both campaigns, the COs you meet play a critical role both on the battlefield and in the story.

Recruit some friends and see who the superior strategist is

When you aren’t busy keeping the peace in one of the two campaign stories, flex your army-commanding chops in Versus Mode*. Up to four players can battle on dozens of maps. Each player chooses a CO from either campaign and can strategically use their CO Powers to turn the tides of battle. Customize your combat with options like funds per allied base and fog of war.

*Additional accessories, games, and systems may be required for multiplayer mode. Sold separately.

Didn't Age Well, Bad Voice Actors and Replayability

The Chosen One - 2 months ago
I played this a lot growing up, as well as the DS sequels, and I will say that this version is a tad raw for a remake. Actually, it is far from acceptable for a full release in some areas, but suitable overall. As a remake, the graphics and music were a nice update, the voice acting was terrible sadly. Yotube tier voice actors were recruited (ProZd), and it was a slap in the face and disgrace to the legacy of this game. ProZd in particular is cringe worthy, and ruined this game to it's core. Other voice actor weren't nearly as bad, but still contributed equal cringe. Outside of this, the developers didn't incorporate multiplayer, which is a staple and main feature in EVERY modern video game. The AI computer is terrible in local multiplayer, and not worth your time. Finally, this game didn't age well at all, and is far too challenging to play for fun overall. It is very much a puzzle game over a strategy game, and not fun overall. I liked revisiting it, but was stuck due to all the above reasons. If it had multiplayer, it would have helped breathe life into this so much.

Mario - 2 years ago, Verified purchaser
As a kid, this game has always been my go-to whenever I'm playing on my GBA. To hear that this game is finally making its return to the Switch has really made me excited and impatient to play this. Once I got my copy, I was not disappointed. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys playing the Fire Emblem series, or to whoever had played an indie game called Wargroove. I promise you'll be attached to this as I am!
