Following up her instant New York Times bestseller, A Flicker in the Dark, Stacy Willingham delivers a totally gripping thriller about a desperate mother with a troubled past in All the Dangerous Things.
One year ago, Isabelle Drake's life changed forever: her toddler son, Mason, was taken out of his crib in the middle of the night while she and her husband were asleep in the next room. With little evidence and few leads for the police to chase, the case quickly went cold. However, Isabelle cannot rest until Mason is returned to her--literally. Except for the occasional catnap or small blackout where she loses track of time, she hasn't slept in a year. Isabelle's entire existence now revolves around finding him, but she knows she can't go on this way forever. In hopes of jarring loose a new witness or buried clue, she agrees to be interviewed by a true-crime podcaster--but his interest in Isabelle's past makes her nervous. His incessant questioning paired with her severe insomnia has brought up uncomfortable memories from her own childhood, making Isabelle start to doubt her recollection of the night of Mason's disappearance, as well as second-guess who she can trust... including herself. But she is determined to figure out the truth no matter where it leads.Review Quotes

A great book that kept me wanting to figure out the story! I loved the flip between “now” and “then” with the chapters. I’ve never read anything by this author before, but I definitely will now.
Great book!

This is a great book! I really enjoyed reading it, although it does have some heavy topics. Trigger warnings aren't in the front of the book but it does focus around the topic of postpartum psychosis/harm, and child abduction/death. The end is somewhat of a happy ending, so although it seemed heavy and dark for most of the story, there was some light at the end, which I enjoyed. Great, emotional read.
Loved it!

Definitely becoming a new favorite author of mine. I read A Flicker in the Dark & loved that one too! Her writing just flows so well, storytelling was superb, fast paced & had me on the edge of my seat to find out what was next! This was a twisty & gripping psychological suspense thriller. I guessed a couple of the twists, but definitely some l didn't see coming too. Super short chapters were a plus! Loved the flawed characters & how it touches on the hard early days of motherhood. The guilt we feel over the thoughts & emotions that we don't know are normal, the things we don't talk about in fear of being judged Isabelle's baby is kidnapped in the middle of the night, right from his crib. Isabelle struggles with severe insomnia, sleep walking & secrets of her past. She wonders, could she have had something to do with her own son's disappearance?? Told in a dual timeline, both storylines keep you enthralled & you will be turning these pages as fast as you can to figure out both plots! The author did such a great job interweaving two stories together & keeping the stories organized. Definitely recommend this one!

I would say that this book would be a 3 1/2 four stars reason being because I feel like it dragged on. It was a slow slow read, repeated a lot of the storyline over and over again, only to just finally get towards the end of the book and then bam, it was a OK wow, I would say but it was definitely not what I expected but still a good book to read
Mind-blown!

Holy twists, Batman!!! 🤯 This was outstanding!!! This is exactly the twisty psychological thriller I've been craving! 🙌🏼 Jaw-dropping, suspenseful, unputdownable! Stellar from start to finish! Isabelle Drake is facing every parent's worst fear... Her toddler was kidnapped in the middle of the night while she slept down the hall. Now, she travels the country presenting her story to true crime junkies. Isabelle receives a lot of flack for this, but she has her reasons for why she puts herself through this over and over again... Isabelle can't rest until her little Mason is found. So with the help of a podcast host, she begins looking at the case in a new way, including digging into some details from her own past.... even though she's terrified of what she might find. I read this in two formats: ebook and audiobook. Both formats were great, but I really enjoyed the audio! Narrator Karissa Vacker knocked it WAY out of the park with her performance!! 👏 Her different voices for the characters, her young/old Isabelle voices... such talent! This is easily one of my top thrillers of 2022!!! 🙌🏼 Very highly recommend in both formats. A big thanks to @minotaur_books, @netgalley, @libro.fm, and @macmillan.audio for my gifted eARC and ALCs in exchange for my honest review!!! This was so freaking good and I'm so glad I had a chance to read it early!! 🙏

All the Dangerous Things was a twisted, dark and memorable journey! Isabelle is a complicated character. I never knew whether I could completely trust her. I wanted to trust her, but with a “problem” that shadows not only her past but apparently her present now as well, I was apprehensive. As a matter of fact, there wasn’t a moment in this book that I wasn’t apprehensive about something or someone. I was on tenterhooks from the beginning. I never knew what was going to happen, who was going to change the landscape of the story, or when a twist was coming. Villains lurked around every corner and I loved that I couldn’t figure out how it was all going to end.
