Q: How do you calibrate the pen so it doesn't write/select an inch away from he screen?

Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue you are having with your Kindle Scribe and stylus pen. * Replace your stylus pen tip. * Make sure that you're writing on a content type that supports handwritten strokes or sticky notes. * Choose another writing tool from the writing toolbar. * Flip the page forth and back. * Close and reopen the book or Notebook. * Close and reopen the sticky note. * Make sure that the content type where you’re trying to use it supports the shortcut function assigned to the button of your Premium Pen. * The stylus pen toolbar shows the pen functions. Make sure that the stylus tip is touching the screen while pressing the stylus pen button. * If these steps don't solve your issue, press and hold the Kindle power button to prompt the restart menu and restart the device. Yes, handwritten notes can be converted through text through the following method: To access the Convert to text options in the Share menu: Go to the Notebook tab. Pick a downloaded notebook and select the More menu under the notebook’s thumbnail. Select Share and choose one of these options: Convert to text and quick send [to your registered email]. Convert to text and email. A preview window opens and you can edit the text by tapping on each page. I hope this helps, have a great day!

A: Hello Ameliya! The Basic and Premium styluses have similar designs. The Basic Pen has a matte plastic build with a round pen-like structure and a lightly grippy texture. There's also a groove on one side that flattens close to the tip. While the flat portion helps thumbs rest while writing, the groove aids in magnetically attaching the stylus to the e-reader. This was a great price for this tablet. Bought for my college age daughter who has dislexia. She can change all of her textbook fonts to a dislexia friendly font, and can take her notes on the graph paper option. This will be so helpful for her.

I have so many books but it’s gotten hard with moving to tote them all around! I really like being able to take it with me and be able to pick a new book without carrying a bunch around. I also love to write notes constantly so this makes it very easy to avoid ruining my favorite books with notes. The magnetic pen keeps me from loosing it and also works very well. Easy hand hold for the pen and holding the pad as well.

This is great for work, school, or pleasure such as making lists, notes, or journal keeping- which I do a lot of all! The battery life is great so far and lasts a very long time between charges. I guess the battery life will be different with everyone with the usage of their tablet. The size of the tablet is great and comfortable to hold while reading and not heavy like some tablets. I also like the pen it comes with to write and make notes, it writes smoothly. I have not experienced any lagging which is wonderful!

She had one if the original kindles and always thought it was too heavy, but this one had a bigger screen and is much lighter. She wishes there was more settings for the brightness as she feels it's too bright even on the lowest setting. Also, the way notes are saved into a separate file from the book you're reading is cumbersome and not intuitive.

The display is great and documents and books are very easy to read in all types of lighting situations. The pen writes as easily as using a pencil on paper. Being able to doodle or take notes is such a fantastic addition to my reading experience and I'm sure will come in handy for the students in my household. One of the most outstanding features was the ability to immediately download a book for the "nonreader" in my household before she lost interest in reading it. Being able to immediately satisfy that urge along with a digital device she was intrigued about using may have garnered us a budding bibliophile. That alone is worth five stars.

I don't notice any lag when performing actions. I do wish you could supplement the onboard hard drive, as this one is locked at 16 gigs. You can't add a microSD or anything like that. Though I will say, the average book takes up almost no hard drive space. I do not foresee myself filling this up to the brim. If that is a serious concern for you, go with one of the higher capacity models. As far as accessories go, there are plenty out there. I can't wait to order a gooseneck stand, a case and a Bluetooth page turner for bedtime reading.

The notepad is my favorite thing I’m often on the go and can’t pull out my pen and paper but this is easy to pull out. The pen magnetizes well to the side with ease. Such a great product!

I do have a hard time writing neatly with the screen and included pen. I do like the option to and I like that you can email PDFs and then write on them. Worked pretty good for wives grocery list but couldn’t get keyboard to work with list. Overall quality product.
