i have oily and acne prone skin so i thought that this would be great- but my skin hasn’t been this bad in a very long time. i broke out so badly and it hurts. it’s going to take a long time for my skin to go back to normal :(

This is a great BODY soap but I wouldn't use it for my face. Although the ingredients have shea butter and coconut oil, which can be moisturizing, the soap itself can be slightly stripping (or harsh). My body can handle it but I wouldn't trust it on my face. As for body, it's about 8.5/10. It smells good, it lathers well, my skin is glowing— only complaint is that it kind of leaves a slight film. I follow up with a body wash so I don't feel sticky. Otherwise, I like it.

So I purchased this, because of the positive reviews, and because my Alba Botanica Acnedote cleanser has become very expensive. First off, this leaves your skin extremely dry. You also have to be very careful when washing your face, and thoroughly rinse off the product because it causes your eyes to sting, even after your have rinsed over and over again. I would like to keep using it, but given the fact that it's highly drying on the skin, I prefer a more gentler product. Maybe it's geared more for extremely oily skin types. I will continue to use at least once a week, and see how it goes. I will however purchase Ambi's gentle cleansing face soap, and see how that goes. Will update after a month or so.
