Review Quotes

"Edward Norman [ ] is quick to point out that the work has no official status. It represents the author's personal interpretation of Anglican doctrine and practice, although he expresses the hope that it may be 'useful to Christians of many traditions.' The opening paragraph [ ] is highly theoretical in style and aimed at the non-specialist reader. The focus there and throughout the book is on the cognitive aspect of Christian faith In his discussion of Christian morality, Norman is likely to confound the expectations of many readers, both to his left and to his right " The Tablet, August 25, 2001

"It is an event of note in the life of the Church when a scholar and churchman of Edward Norman's standing offers us a brief catechism." Theology, March-April 2002

"It is more than a statement of Christian beliefs; it is an interpretation of them "
Brian O' Leary, Epworth review, July 2002.

"There are many excellent features to this book In particular the sections dealing with the social teaching and witness of the church could stir up a fascinating debate and raise important issues." Church of England Newspaper

"A provocative Anglican Catechism that couples innovative sexual views with traditionalist church teaching."
- Church Times, June 15, 2001
