Barbie Basics Collectible Doll, Model 01 with Brunette Hair in Black Dress and Pointed Booties

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I reviewed the product and was impressed with the the quality of the item and the mobility/flexibity of the doll. I let my granddaughter play with it along with her other Barbie's and it has become her present favorite.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The model #01 I received is pretty. I di like her hair cut. It seems the turning and twisting could have been applied to waist area. That would help with posing the doll. As far as clothing, underwear would be a basic item. But the doll for the most part is good for a starting point for little girls.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Barbie basics Little Black Dress Model 1. I chose this model because she looked Asian/South East Asian and I thought that was pretty cool since most figures are usually Caucasian or African American. That's what I usually see advertised. I really don't play with dolls, but I do have and play with a lot of action figures. I figured they're somewhat similar so I gave this Barbie a try for the review. For a "basics" line I thought it was pretty good. The doll's articulation has a nice range of motion. The joints are not too tight or too loose, but just right. Hopefully they stay that way over time. I also liked that a stand was included with the doll to help with posing it. I'm not sure if her hair is supposed to be stiff? Seems like parts of it had some mustache wax on it or something. I figured it was there to style her hair differently? It would've been nice to include a comb to fix her hair back to "stock" look. I did pull some strands apart to see if I could change her look up and it did work. Again I'm not really sure how dolls are supposed to be played with so I thought I broke her hair! The little black dress was nice. The fabric felt sturdy and high quality. I was surprised to see the dress taped/glue sticked on her legs and shoulder. I was checking out the articulation and the dress ripped off of the gluey part (no damage to the dress though). Guess I was too rough on her! I looked at the box and noticed the dress was supposed to be off her shoulder! Oops! But I restuck it back to its original position and it seemed ok. The doll has a thigh twist, knee bends, and boot twist for her legs. At the arms her elbows bend, wrists twist and they move like arms should. No butterfly joints/articulation at the shoulders though, but again it's a basic line. Her facial features look nice and the paint job looks good. The eyes are nicely detailed. Overall I'd say it's a nice doll for a basic line. I gave it 4 stars because my only complaint is that the factory put those plastic tamper proof stringy things right inside her head!! There's no way to cut them completely off without damaging the toy! Also a kid can hurt themselves if they're combing her hair with their fingers! If it wasn't for that I would've given it 5 stars.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the start, Unrealistic arm and leg movements. She must wear a size 2 in shoes. Her hair is nasty, feels like its all glued to her head, cant be changed at all. The outfit would have been better with shoes not boots.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked this doll because she's a facemold I don't have in my collection. I like to unbox my dolls and redress them. Her face is very sweet! She's a made-to-move with chest movement, but not waist. Initial thoughts/observation when unboxing: 1. Awful stiff hair! In box you can see that she has a helmet head. Looks nothing like the 2. There's quite a bit of debris in the box that would drive me nuts if I was the type to keep in box. 3. The earrings had a little plastic disc between the face and earrings. I guess to keep from scratching/green ear? The posts felt very flimsy and the paint was already flaking off on the post. 4. The dress is kept in place with tape on the thighs and shoulder. 5. Mine had hair glue on her face, it came off with water. 6. It was nice to just pop her head off like an old Barbie! Easy easier to wash her hair. 7. Mine had some funky rooting/misrooting going on, there was a large lump under the helmet hair. 8. Once washed, her hair cut wasn't very even. 9. The dress was a slightly thicker poly then what is usually seen on the playline dolls, but other than that it was a very basic construction and shape. Overall I like her, but I am very disappointed by her hair. If something is basic, it needs to be on point.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the Basic Barbie! The doll is such a beautiful doll. Her facial features are simply pure perfection. I love her skin tone. The Basic collection has so many options to change out heads a use your imagination with your collection of basics. This is a well constructed Barbie. I would recommend Barbie Basics for every Barbie collection. Model no1 is pretty. The entire collection is pretty. Got to get the collection. Packaging is very well done also. I liked the idea, but the doll I received is shown in marketing to have a pretty bob that curves under, but really is board straight. I’m not a fan of the joints that show - I’d prefer the legs that are more tightly attached and look realistic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Barbie Classics at home. The fabric used in making the dress is od excellent quality and made / sewn well. The boots are a nice accessory. The ability to move the arms, legs, feet, chest, and hands are marvelous. And the tilting of the head is so realistic. The hair is too stiff, and the earings being in a static position do not go along with the rest of the moving parts. The eys and skin tone are amazing, but i cannot tell if she is Asian or Latina. The fingers are a bit long, and I'm not sure why they are stuck together; maybe to keep them from breaking? I think the versatility and movements of this doll will be a key to kids wanting to play with Barbie over and over and over.

Cute doll with MTM body. I would recommend this doll to other doll collectors. I only wish her hair looked like the picture on the box.

I am so happy the Barbie basics are back. I love them so much. They’re so classic and just simple and beautiful.
