Barbie Signature 65th Blue Sapphire Anniversary Fashion Doll with Black Hair, Black and White Gown

I bought this doll as a gift. She's stunning. Love her hair, her face is beautiful and her outfit is perfect! For any Barbie doll collector, this would make a terrific gift.

The most beautiful Barbie face I’ve ever seen. I love her painted details and makeup, the glasses and removable earrings are great. The gloves fit very well. I wish she was made to move and I do not like the bottom part of the dress…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kiddo had a lot of fun playing with this "queen". They especially loved playing with and styling the hair. They have a few mattell dolls and this one was similar to the little mermaid ariel doll braids. The only frustration was that this wasn't a fully flexible doll so it was hard to make her drive like the other dolls in my kid's collection. They also loved the big poofy dress and put it on a few of their other dolls along with the glasses. The shoes didn't fit but they barely stayed on, so it didn't seem to be an issue.

Normally I would have kept Barbie in her box and kept her in near perfect condition but now I have daughters who love to play with Barbie so out she came. They took her quickly to their doll house to play. They enjoyed the platform that she came with which allows her to stand on her own. She was the hit for quite sometime getting played with often and taken on outside adventures.

She thinks the dress is amazing and has a ton of parties with her other dolls and this at her barbie house. High Glam as she says! She thinks her hair is just right and wants a dress just like Crystal. The name she so fittingly chose for this doll.

My daughter loved the black mesh elbow length gloves and the cat eye glasses but her favorite feature was the doll’s edges. She is almost too nice to play with, but my daughter did and even though she doesn’t look quite as nice as when she came out of the box, the doll held up really well. The 65th anniversary Barbie is probably meant to be a collector’s item but since the doll comes with a stand.

The dress is really nice and has lots of volume when the doll is standing and sitting. The doll has no makeup on which brings out her natural beauty. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to get the Barbie Signature 65th Anniversary Collectible Doll. I got the brown doll with dark hair. But let me first tell you about the packaging. The box is quite unique than a regular rectangular box. Really shows off the dress. It so pretty its perfect for the doll collectors who don't open them and keep for display only. We are collectors but we do open boxes and "play" with any doll deemed collectors. This one will be for display only but out of the box. The Barbie Signature 65th Anniversary Collectible Doll is beautiful. The doll is wearing box braids which are very detailed. Long and very manageable. One thing I was not happy with was the amount of plastic on her head. See pictures for details, but it had a plastic tags which I had to carefully pull and cut to take off the plastic and to not cut any hair. If you don't pull the tags then there's a chance some of the tag will still show through the hair. The black and white dress looks very classy but the material is very thin. However, with the layering of the fabric, it makes it look like it has lots of volume. Again, it had plastic tags in it which when removed, it left tiny holes on the fabric. I'm not sure why those were place there. This being an anniversary doll, the dress color feels like an homage to the iconic black and white bathing suit from the first Barbie as are the sunglasses that come with this Barbie. The glasses don't really go with an evening gown but you can take them off. One detail I really loved were the gloves. They look so pretty with the bow and how shiny they are. There's a little sparkle to them. I accidentally pulled one and noticed that the gloves are actually glued to the arm of Barbie. They could come off it needed but it does leave the glue residue. The details on the face are cute too, like the freckles and how this Barbie is looking to the side and not straight out. This Barbie Signature 65th Anniversary Collectible Doll has not articulation whatsoever which is a bit weird but also its another way to remember how original Barbie dolls were. One of the legs is bent as in ready to pose. It does come with a saddle stand which can be difficult for some to use. It was a little hidden in the box so I almost through it out with it. Overall, I love the Barbie Signature 65th Anniversary Collectible Doll and the details. Compared to other collectible Barbies we owned its less play friendly but great for display. I would recommend for any collector and even for children.

The dress was well made and has survived be taken off and on, as well as a few flights down the stairs. The only problem we have found is her sleeves. The material (glue?) Holding the sleeves up didnt last long. We eventually took them off because she was getting frustrated.
