A nod towards the timeless design of Japanese implements, the Nata Hatchet is as handsome as it is functional. The 7” easy-sharpen blade features 5mm thick 4Cr14MoV full-tang stainless steel, ideal for all-around outdoor work. With a wide bevel and serious heft, this hatchet handles controlled chopping, kindling splitting, and trimming with ease. The extra-long edge makes it a go-to for pruning, debarking, and removing limbs. Durable, smooth hardwood walnut handle reduces vibration in hand and resists cracking over time. Intentional details like the copper lanyard ring elevate this hatchet to an impressive quality. The Nata Hatchet is the perfect outdoor tool to add to your wilderness arsenal. The ultimate shield for the ultimate tool, Nata Sheath unites utility and design. Made of 900D polyester with an interior liner, it weathers real-world use while protecting the blade from dulling. Stainless steel belt clip supports easy carrying and accessibility, while the strong handle strap restricts the blade from slipping or moving. Open-end allows for easy cleaning and prevents soil buildup, preserving the blade for years of continued use. Accented with full-grain leather and copper to complement the rest of our Woodsman Collection.Note: The Nata Hatchet is a Japanese-inspired tool crafted for durability and efficiency in heavy-duty outdoor tasks. It excels at cutting through thick branches and tackling larger logs up to 8 inches in diameter. The Nata Hatchet bridges the functionality of a machete with the power of a traditional hatchet, making it an ideal companion for firewood prep, trail clearing, and other rugged activities.

Came very dull, isn’t cutting through anything. Tried small branches (1 inch) and thick reeds of Guinea grass. Kind of a useless tool on my farm

Bought the hatchet for my son. He absolutely love it! He uses it to help me out in the yard and when he's on outdoor adventures- hiking, foraging, camping.

I love this thing. It came very sharp and it's thick steel and full tang handle. The handle is long so you can get a decent swing, almost like a small axe for kindleing or you can get close up for pruning small branches. It feels durable.

Great Nata for splinting kindling.....been using it fir nearly two weeks.. watch your hands. I use a hard rubber mallet to add some splinting downward force. Has kept a nice sharp edge so for..must say I am only using cedar, pine and spruce wood. Toll is great looking and balanced well.

I love it. You can do almost anything with it that you can do with a hatchet. It is a favorite. I'm gonna give 5 stars for design and quality, however I am NOT an expert so consider that. I really do love this tool.

Nicely balanced and super sharp right out of the box. I will have to take it apart before I use it, though. The metal in the tang of the handle has a burr. The sharp burr is right where my fingers grip it. Hoping I can file it smooth and reassemble the handle. Otherwise the fit and finish is very nice.

This hatchet feels heavy in a nice way, very sturdy and well balanced weight. I like the shape of the blade, it makes it versatile. The sheath is great too, fits perfectly and easy to store or transport.

First & foremost ... I like the design and the quality of the blade. It has a good heft and a sharp edge. The sheath is well designed and I like the fact that, unlike leather, it does more to protect the carbon steel from moisture while in storage. Now I do have one minor issue ... and it's the handle. While I find it to be at a very good length, it is unfortunately a little too narrow in diameter. The handle is also very smooth and pretty "slippery," with no other design feature to prevent my hand from traveling up and down the handle while in use. Having said that, I still think this is a great product.

Didn't get to use it yet, but the hatchet when lying flat can slide up into the holster even with 2 snaps in place, I got a solid slice on my finger going to pick it up.

This product is awesome. I really didn’t know what to expect but not this. I cannot believe how well balanced this is. The edge is wicked sharp and with very little effort I was able to split firewood. Now I want another barebones product. Ordering the field knife today. Lol
