Bell + Howell Wireless Motion Activated Ceiling Light with Remote Control

I've been needing a strong light for a small apartment closet and this was perfect for it. You'll need some heavy-duty scissors to cut the light and remote out of the packaging. You also need 4 big C batteries for the light itself, but the little coin battery for the remote comes included. The light defaults to motion sensing, though it's relatively simple to use the remote to keep the light on for set amounts of time (press "on" button on remote, then either 3 min, 5 min, or 15 min button). If any downsides, depending on the size of the closet, you may need to buy more than one light.

The description in the catalog led me to believe that though it's a motion activated light---it could also be used for an ongoing light by using the remote; which is what I need: (the combination) it would be the only ceiling in the entry room. For the price I believed what I read.

I was concerned about there being enough light, but did not want to go through the pain of hardwiring a light. This was the perfect solution! It gives plenty of light, is battery operated, and even has a motion sensor and remote control for easy operation. I am so happy I found this product!

Now the bad the back doesn't stay on very well and the motion detection part only works if the light is touched but I wil say all of the timers work great.

However we have a closet in a hallway that has light only from the hallway and we placed this light in that closet on the ceiling. It really makes a difference and I’m impressed with the brightness and the automatic turning off and on which saves on the batteries.

I love the way it has panels on the side to provide a lot of light. So far, the battery life has been good. The motion detection feature is really handy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am using this light for a closet space where we can't easily install a ceiling light. The light is responsive and immediately lights up when I open the closet door and reach to pull things off the top shelf. Good marks for performance as expected. The light requires four C size batteries. I have quite a few AA size rechargeable batteries on hand for lighting decorations seasonally, so rather than buy C batteries, I purchased the AA to C spacers which are working out perfectly. The remote is a nice addition and probably useful for someone using the light in a larger closet or crawl space area. I prefer clear, directional lights for task lighting, so I wouldn't expect to use these as overhead kitchen lights as displayed on the packaging - they are really more appropriate to light a smaller area like a powder room, closet or storage space etc. I took away one star because of the packaging which at best would be difficult to recycle due to the clam shell front and package structure. Additionally, the clam shell layer made the packaging exceptionally difficult to open, even when using heavy duty utility scissors and a razor knife.

When I hung the cabinet I lost my overhead lighting. So this light was a perfect fit. No running power, and it was a couple screws and done. And it’s bright, I was a little skeptical being battery operated. And I like the remote, you can set the amount of time it stays on. All in all super easy install and a great product .

I placed it in my hallway going down the stairs so my nighttime bathroom run isn't me trying to feel where the next step is. Setting this light up took no time at all, it was so incredibly easy my children could have done it completely blindfolded. My favorite part of this Bell + Howell - Bell + Howell Motion Activated Ceiling Light with Remote is the motion sensor. It turns on steps before the I even get to the stairs, and is bright enough to light up the whole area. I highly recommend.

It took 5 minutes to set up and now we don’t worry about losing clothes in the dark corners. No need to install a heavy duty fixture with a switch and get into the walls when you can just get one of these!

Light up the basement

It was easy to install--ceiling light provides wide LED angle lighting and easily attached with tape installation.

It puts off a good bit of light. Haven't had a reason to use the remote, but I'm sure in certain situations it would come in handy. It a great light!!

I even looked to see if I could get a replacement remote but I don’t think that’s a thing. Be sure not to lose it or you won’t be able to use this product! It does seem well made and easy to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a light in the back end of my pantry/storage area, and this product, which requires no wiring and can even be installed with sticky strips, seemed to fit the bill. I am pleased with how easily it went up! However, I wish I had paid closer attention to the light rating; it is brighter back there than it was before, but not as bright as I was hoping for. Also, I am still struggling to figure out how the "motion sensor" function works. This doesn't matter in my application, since I have to turn the "front" lights on to even get into the room, but it might to other users. I can't figure out where the sensor even is... That said, this seems to be a nice product which doesn't quite fit my needs.

The literal only thing I don't really like is the timer. Other than that I would get more. I probably will anyway. Installation was a snap.
