[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Following the directions included in the box, I put two pieces of the Fatwood in an X shape at the bottom of my wood stove. I used some old newspaper to start the fire and these sticks lit right up. Waited a few seconds and added seasoned hardwood on top and voila, roaring fire that heats the house. Recommend!

Since I am only out there at random times, usually the previous fire has completely gone out. I take one of these, and split it in to several smaller pieces and build a "pyramid" that I can put other small pieces of wood around. The pyramid starts with one match, and I quickly have a good fire in the stove, so I can go on to other stuff.

But when I used them they lit instantly and easily and stayed lit. I used them to start a fire to burn yard debris and has never had such an easy time.
