The ingredient in this mix has change. Alot less choc chips, the cake color looks lighter and lost the fudge taste it was years before. And now it's not moist anymore. will be trying other brands. This reminds me of the shake n bake BBQ coating for chicken pork chops etc.. before 2014 it was the best, used it all the time, they changed the ingredients and i stopped buying it, as many others did. Always changing things to save a buck and messing up big time.

However, it’s been 2 years since I made this as my dad had passed and just now getting back to baking. It was terrible! ! Myself, daughter and relative all said the same thing! It had a smell of “old” to it and the taste was awful! I had to throw the whole double layer cake out and one less dessert for my holiday dinner. It appears the ingredients in the “Leavening” section the order of the same ingredients had changed and a couple different changes in the ingredients. I had a box in my cupboard from previous to compare the new box I bought along with the same frosting. It’s the cake mix! Something was wrong with it. The use by date was 11/23/24. I did not get sick but the smell was something that we all could not stomach and the taste was definitely not a good taste. I was very upset as I was short dessert for my holiday dinner. I would not have rated this with one star but was forced to in order to make this post.
