At 64, I decided it best to quit hopping on/off chairs to retrieve items from my upper cabinet shelves. I looked at aluminum stools on more expensive sites but found this one -- less expensive and a better fit. This stool is lightweight, secure, has a full size top step, and provides a nice handle to steady yourself during use. It opens and folds easily yet stays open when moving locations. I had purchased a hook to hang it but won't need it because it leans against the wall so nicely.

So lightweight and sturdy and it really does fold flat--and can stand, folded, without having to lean on anything!
