Birds Choice Bear Proof Novelty Bird Feeder 26" Brown: Weather-Resistant, 4 lb Capacity, No Assembly Required

This feeder is bear proof. It was out for less than a day when our bears discovered it. They were able to get some seeds out but they did not destroy it, thankfully. Every other bird feeder we’ve had has been destroyed when a bear finds it.

I was so excited to see this bird feeer! We live in the mountains and have bears and other critters frequent our feeders. This is a very strong and heavy feeder which is just what I needed. The problem is with the design. When the wind blows the feed just blows out of the holes and can empty the entire feeder in no time. I bought two additional ones before I realized this. Now, I am trying to see if I can place a buffer in the center between the holes. Such a bummer!

I have been feeding the birds for many years and have purchased too many bird feed to mention. I have bears that destroy feeders and squirrels that live to eat all the seed before the birds. This feeder is fantastic. I bought it to hopefully outlast another bear visit but an si excited that the squirrels have given up on it. Now, my little birds eat cheerfully at this feeder every day. I do put a few other feeders out for the squirrels and bigger birds. I know this feeder will last for many years. I am so satisfied with its quality. Thank you for creating this durable feeder.

I have had it pulled down by a bear; but, they don't break it and never carry it off in the woods like other feeders I have had. If you use regular bird food the bear will empty the feeder. I use Cole's hot meat sunflower seeds in this one as the bears do not like the peppery taste.

We have it hanging on a bracket on our fence. We had to design brackets to attach to the fence on each side of the feeder to keep it from swinging. Copper wire attached to the brackets helps to stabilize. When it swings from the wind, etc., all of the birdseed comes out of the perch holes and falls to the ground. Can be emptied in a matter of seconds. If this feeder is hanging on a Shepard hook, might as well not fill it. I like the feeder since we stabilized it. Coins cannot get it down or steal the seed.
