Summary of reviews
The string trimmer has received mixed feedback from guests, with many praising its lightweight design and ease of use, particularly for those with physical limitations. The auto-feed feature, however, has been a significant point of frustration, often leading to frequent manual feeding of the line. While some guests appreciate its power and performance for basic lawn care, others express disappointment over the durability and string consumption, suggesting that improvements are needed in the spool design.

JUNK

Had one that was working for a couple of years and when I needed parts to fix, black and decker offered to send replacement instead. Replacement lasted only 3 times usage and when I called back was told replacement is not under warranty and there was nothing they can do. Replacements are junk they give away to make them look good.

Goes through spool like crazy. Runs fine but i go through 1 spool in about 10 minutes run or maybe less. I had a battery powered black and decker and that was not powerful enough, so I got this one. Sadly, I have to go back to my battery powered one because I ran out of all my spools in one cleaning. I thought I was doing something wrong, spent hours on google to see what I am doing wrong, but turns out that it is a common issue with this model. I even wet my strings per 'google' but that did not make much difference either.

Really between a 2 or 3. Only had it for less than 3 years and the feed stopped working. My last weed Wacker (not Black & Decker) lasted over 10 years and I used it frequently. Now I only use it on a small area and I can’t get it to work right.

Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend

Sent a nail gun instead and a refurbished one on top of that. Their mailing box claims they refurbish things which tells me even if they sent the right item it would be an used Weed Wacker and not the brand new one they are advertising here. Scam.
Over feeding of line

This is the second time I’ve bought this weed eater. It is a great yard tool for me since it is lightweight and easy to use. The first lasted about 4 years until the line feeder broke. This second one had problems from the moment I used it. Like most people’s complaints, I have issues with the line feeding nonstop. My yard is littered with 12+ inches of line that has been cut/broken off. I can’t even go 3 feet without line breaking off. I’m going through too much line for it to be helpful.

So easy for me to use. It's lightweight and there's no hassle of mixing gas. It's lower priced and gets the job done. The string is really easy to pop in and out. However, I do think the string is overpriced compared to other brands.

I bought this a few years back to replace an old 'bump and feed' unit that finally died. This thing feeds line whether you need it or not! I can go through 100' of .65 line in less time than it would take to just hula hoe the yard!
Much better than my old B+D bump trimmer!

This thing eats/throws string so fast you’d think Black and Decker had shares in the company that makes the string. Not recommended!!!!
Will suffice with after market string

Recently purchased to replace an 8 year old B&D bump feed. This one feels more balanced in hand and seems to work decently enough for small yard edging, trimming. This issue I have with this unit is the auto feed. Nice idea but when using B&D spools with their string it feeds far to much string out, then tries to cut the excess, which in turn creates a tug on the spool and more string is thrown out. I went through an entire spool of B&D string before I was half done and it's a small yard! I seem to have found a remedy to this by respooling myself with after market .065 string. For whatever reason this seems to work and in turn saves me lots of money as B&D replacement spools are very pricey. This is an adequate, inexpensive, corded string trimmer. All I need for a small yard. Not a bad purchase but do beware as in my opinion B&D string has quality issues.

I have this trimmer/edger and like it. I can do my entire yard with this trimmer if it gets to high. The cord is a little inconvenient but I usually throw it over my shoulder to help keep it out of the way.

Works great for small yards! Easy to maneuver and really light. I have no issues with it being corded. Changing and refilling the trimmer line is super easy. I would recommend buying an extra spool. Really great value!

A very disappointing item. The handle, although attached correctly, will not snap in to place sufficiently. While in use the handle unlocks and moves up. This causes the item to lower and scorch the ground . This happens constantly. Also, the trimmer line extends well past the protective guard some times during use. When did it become so difficult for B & D to make a simple product a customer could be happy with. I would recommend this item to another person, but only if you despise them and wish misery upon them.
Works Great!

I bought this Trimmer last month and I keep falling in love with it. It is really simple to use and doesn’t take long to do my front and back yard. The only problem is the line is not that long but other than that my yard looks great.

Needed a good Trimmer, liked the features this one had. I didn’t do my homework and now paying for it. This auto feed over feeds and wastes line. First I though it was due to the woven fence which is catchs the line and pulls it. So the second time I used it, I started on everything other than the woven fence. Still went through three spools of line, in my small yard. You’ll waste more time Rewinding spools of line than it would take to trim your yard....not happy Might any one have a fix for this model? Can’t afford buying another trimmer right now, though I might be buy it through the cost of trimmer line!

Received as gift and just started using. Right out of the box the adjustable handle will not stay locked. Despite best efforts to fix it I am literally having to reset the handle after every couple of swings. Disappointing because otherwise I like the product but this factor makes it almost useless.
