    Does not feed the string

This is the second one I have had. The first one overheated and I had to stop using it until it cooled down . I really liked the ease of use from weed trimming to edging, so I got another one through my Credit Union rewards. Now this one won't feed the string. It worked with the original string spool and hasn't worked since. Once I put the cover on the string mechanism, it stops feeding the string. If I loosen the cover I can get the string to click and pull out, but once I put the orange cover back on it stops feeding again. So disappointed.

    Model LSTE StringTtrimmer

I purchased the Black and Decker (model - LSTE523) string trimmer earlier this year and have used it very little. The trimmer itself works well, but the automatic line easy feed mechanism no longer works. MY overall rating would be much higher, if the automatic line easy feed option worked correctly.

Unit # 3 just failed , these are not lasting very long 🥲 they last less than a full season of residential use … My Grandfather was a brand advocate ALWAYS beloved in B&D said their products last a lifetime , he would be very disappointed . We should not have to replace yearly , The motors seized up and smoke paired out of it …

    Bad restringing

This thing was amazing until I tried to restring it. It will not auto feed the line. I’ve never been so frustrated. I loved being able to flip from edger to trimmer and loved using it for 3 months. The wheel also helped with edging. And I loved the button to feed rather than bump. But now that I can’t feed string to it. It just feels like I want to throw it out out of frustration

The feed mechanism on my cordless trimmer does not work. When I try to feed more line nothing happens, I have to remove the cover on the spool and manually feed more line, then replace the cover. This happens every time more line needs to be released.

My Review for 20V MAX* Lithium EASYFEED™ String Tr

I own both the Black & Decker String Trimmer/Edger and the Worx String Trimmer/Edger. After comparing both units I have found the B & D trimmer to be a better unit that the Worx unit. The B & D trimmer has a stronger battery to give you longer run time. Holds a heavier gauge trimmer line than the Worx trimmer. The B&D trimmer also has a much higher torque motor than the Worx unit. The B & D unit has made strides in quality, durability and design. Personally I favor by far the B & D trimmer/edger over the Worx trimmer /edger. Compare for yourself, you'll see, feel and experience the difference in design and quality.

Easy to use, though a bit awkward re: the location of the button needed to enable one to activate the trimmer. I have an older Black and Decker that uses an 18 volt battery. My recent purchase (20 volt battery) seems to have less power. I am interested in gauging the performance over time, and assess how well the batteries retain power. Battery life and how long the battery retains its charge are important consideratins for me and its use on our .7 acre lawn

Bought sept., 2019, worked well for 8wks. Come spring 2020, worked great for several weeks then the auto feed released whole reel. Rewound the string and it did the same thing. Further inspection showed the clutch used to auto feed string (made of plastic) was broken, still in warranty. I had an earlier model of this trimmer I loved, it lasted 3 years. This one lasted 6mths. Called support to let them know what happened, sent a new one. Hoping this one lasts longer than the 6mth the first LSTE523 Trimmer/Edger. It's light and the larger 20 volt battery last till my trimming is done. Even did my neighbors yard for him today with it. Again, hoping this lasts at least it's 2 yr warranty...price is good. Gave 3 stars for this reason.

    Died after 9 months

The PowerFeed never worked. I re-read the User and Guide, reinserted the spool countless times and tried new spools but I could never get the line to advance at all, never mind to the point where I heard it hitting the inside of the guard, as the Guide said I should. I had no choice but to remove the spool cap and advance the line manually if I needed a deeper cut for edge trimming. After 9 months the unit died completely even though the charger light was solid green, indicating the battery was fully charged. I have trashed it!

I have been using Stihl equipment, but this weed eater I got for just around the house. Works great. Light an plenty of power. With the 3ah battery, I get tied before the battery does. That wheel for edging works great, on the concrete, but not so much for edging the flower beds. But the thing is so lite it really doesn’t matter. Really nice addition to my 20 volt tools.

Bought several months ago and trimmer worked fine. About a month ago the trimmer started auto-feeding too much line. Trimmer automatically shuts down when there is too much line. I can manually cut the excess line and trimmer will operate for 10seconds until it auto feeds too much line and shuts down again. I have not been able to trim in the last month. I regret buying this product.
