Q: Does the drill actually "work" by screwing in/out screws?
A: Nope, not at all. Don't buy this!

Q: It states use Carbon Zinc batteries can alkaline batteries be used?
A: Hi! There should be no issue using Alkaline batteries. We recommend not mixing (i.e. using one carbon zinc along with using one alkaline or using one old battery and one new battery).

Q: Is this appropriate for a five year old?
A: Might be a bit too simple, depending upon the child. But if yours likes pretend play, this toy is good for that. Realistic sounds lend a hand to good pretend play.
