Exploding oatmeal!

Not sure why this is happening. Followed the directions EXACTLY for the microwave method. Product exploded after two tries! Liquid everywhere. Tried the stove top version; oatmeal was way too thick (followed the directions there, too) so I added milk to make it edible. Added salt too which helped. Ultimately I think we would like the oatmeal if we could figure out the right way to prepare it! Has anyone else had this issue?

My family loves this oatmeal, so creamy. It’s also great in other recipes. I do wish it was available in a larger package, maybe a 5lb or 7lb bag.

This is delicious. I love it for a change of pace from steel cut oats or rolled oats. I like to add a little maple syrup and walnuts to it and it is a delicious, healthy treat.
Best ever way to eat Oatmeal

This is the best tasting oatmeal I have ever eaten. Because it's milled, it's smooth like mush. I LOVE this so much. My doctor had told me to eat oatmeal to reduce my cholesterol and I could never get into eating whole oats. This is the only oatmeal I've found that I truly love enough to eat often. It is also satisfies me so I'm not hungry for hours and it's low calorie. Best ever Oatmeal, for sure.
The absolute best oatmeal

I'm ruined for life. I never want to eat any other kind of porridge. I have it 2-3 times/week and it's fabulous. We just use some fruit & yogurt on top, no sweetener needed. My only wish is the pan was easier to clean afterward. Any suggestions? Yes, I stir it a lot but not every second.

I didn't know what to expect...hadn't had Scottish Oats before. This is a much creamier and smoother oat breakfast than rolled oats. I'll definitely purchase this again.

The best. It’s like a cross between steel cut and quick oats. Definitely best done on stove top. There are good videos on YT on making Scottish oats.

It's great tasting and good for the body and brain and soul. It's also what my ancestors in Scotland used to beat the cold and chill - it works like that here in Wisconsin.

Love it. Very Creamy! But the secret is to add the oats into the pot just as the water starts to warm up and continue to stir lightly until and through it boiling stage. This will minimize clumping. If i wait for the water to boil to add the oats it will clump. Then i just stir occasionally until it is finished. If i add the oats while the water is still cool its not as creamy

Scottish Oatmeal has become my favorite one to eat for breakfast. In the past, I primary have used whole rolled oats, or sometimes steel cut oats, but now Scottish Oatmeal is my No. 1. It has a very creamy texture and its flavor seems more pronounced with oat flavor, which I like, than the other types of oatmeal. My wife, Deborah, is intent in using the Scottish oatmeal to make oat cakes--she is the primary baker in our family.
This oatmeal is totally authentic!

Can’t beat these oats! Love all the oat variations from Bob, including this one. Smaller pieces than steel cut oats, so it’s a smoother cereal. But similar flavor to steel cut.
