Q: My screen is not reacting, tried everything but it stopped working?
A: We’re sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with the screen on your BISTRO Electric Gooseneck Kettle. To troubleshoot, try resetting the base by unplugging it, waiting a few minutes, and reconnecting it to the power source. Ensure there’s no moisture or condensation on or near the screen, and if necessary, leave the base unplugged in a dry place for a day or two. Clean the screen gently with a damp cloth or an electronics-safe cleaning spray to remove any residue that might be interfering with touch sensitivity. Remember that the touch screen responds to duration rather than pressure, so lightly but firmly hold each button for at least 1–2 seconds (longer to power on/off). If the issue persists, please reach out to our customer service team at support@bodum.com. Thank you for your question and hope this helps!

Q: Does the water come in contact with plastic parts?
A: Thank you for your question! The only non-stainless steel component that comes into contact with water in this kettle is a small, BPA-free silicone seal around the thermometer at the bottom, essential for precise temperature control. Additionally, the handle is attached with a plastic brace inside the top, but this part is located above the "MAX" fill line and does not come into contact with hot water.

Q: How do I turn this on? Instructions say: press power icon once to turn on display. Works, 212 deg shown with a blinking "F". Second press to boil just turns it off. Heat icon never appears.
A: When waking the screen you must gently press the power icon for three seconds. To begin boiling water at 212 make sure that the 212 F is displayed on the screen using the – and + icons. Then lightly press the power icon for one second. A long three second press after the screen is already awake will power down the device.

Q: Why does it talk a long time for the switch to come on with my finger on it? I find it takes up to 5-6 seconds, which is annoying. Is there any way around this delay?
A: It takes about 3 seconds of a light touch on the ON/OFF symbol to turn on the control panel. This is the only way to turn on the device.

Q: I can't seem to get the keep warm button to work. Is there a trick to this?
A: You can't keep warm at the highest temp. So lower temp to 194 degrees. Then tap the keep warm button and then tap the power putton to start that setting.
