Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

Height

Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.
Chest

Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.
Waist

With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.
Hip

Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.
Inseam

Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

These shorts fit him good and run true to size. He always needs a few pair of light denim shorts to get him through the summer and spring months. These are a perfect addition to his wardrobe. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trendy looking denim shorts! My son is 12 years old and is in between a size 12 and a 14. I picked the size 14 and they were a little large on him. I probably could’ve used the waist adjuster inside the pants to make them work. The length was good on them, and I liked that the jean material was stretchy and lightweight for the summer. Overall, I thought these were a good look and deal. A little out of my son’s, comfort zone, but I thought they look great! I received an incentive to write this review.

These shorts fit my son well. They are true to size. I like how they are darker at the top and get lighter as it gets towards the bottom. They stop right above the knee on him and he is 5’2”. He says they are comfortable.

These jeans are a very weird fit, like they are okay in the waist for the most part, and cling in the legs, they are also stretch material, so my son finds them comfortable, but honestly they look pretty funny to me.

The jean shorts are a great look. I love the distressed look on my son. They have the adjustable waist, which is good. The only thing i would say negative is that you will need to size up. The skinny fit is a normal look that my son likes, but this one was tight around his legs and rear end, not giving a comfortable feel.

Size small boys denim Bermuda shorts

The shorts have an adjustable waistband and fit just above the knee. The material of the shorts is super stretchy and makes for a comfortable fit. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 5 year old son really likes the loose fit on these shorts. He said, I could sleep in these because they’re so comfortable! The denim is a little thinner than normal, but that’s not a bad thing since it’s less bulky. The frayed spots and hem give them a lived in look, which he thinks makes him look like his teenage older brother, which of course he likes. The waist is adjustable and good thing too, as the XS were quite loose on him considering the fact that they’re meant to fit ages 4 and 5. I received an incentive to write this review.

These are quality jean shorts! My son is a taller and very thin 8 year old. He has a hard time finding pants that aren't too short in length or big in the waist. These shorts are great leg length and have those adjustable loops in the waist to tighten or loosen so they last longer! They're comfortable and feel durable too.
