Britax Emblem 3 Stage Convertible Car Seat

I’ve only used Britax car seats since my first child who is 10 years old. This car seat is by far the worst I’ve had. The straps are so far out on the sides that they don’t make proper contact with the babies shoulders. The click tight and movable headrest are not easy to use. Overall, it just feels like a very awkward fit on my daughter and I’m not sure how safe she would be in it. She also seems uncomfortable as it does not recline as much in the rear, facing position as the Britax advocate and others that we’ve had.

This is a great car seat even in accidents you may get into I had one with my baby girl and she turned out just fine because of this high quality

We are very happy with the car seats. They are comfortable, easy to install and seem well made. It is disappointing that the expiry is 7 years (as opposed to 10 years). It is also disappointing that the seat we received is over a year old already.

I did not like anything about this car seat, it’s very bulky. It’s not good for small cars. My daughter was never comfortable in it. The headrest broke after of few times of adjusting it. It only had three recline settings. The head rest covers your blind spot, not by a little, by a lot. I think the concept of this car seat is great, it just wasn’t well thought out.

It looks comfortable for my child. Everything is working well. The only negative point is that there's not a lot of reclining position.

I received this car seat as a baby shower gift and have been using it for about 1 and a half years. My daughter seems very comfortable in it, it's very easy to install and clean, also machine washable which is great since she's always eating in the car. The only thing I don't like is that there is no cup holder :/

My little brother quite tall almost 2yrs as well but this seat is so comfy for him, and will most likely last him till 4 years old. actually seems slim for the car, if you own a toyota highlander it works out great, if you choose middle seat will be perfect as it gives all the space for passengers.

Description says machine washable—it’s not per manual!! Part of the reason I went with this seat was because it was machine washable, but the manual says hand wash only and specifically not to wash in the washing machine??

Pretty easy to install for a car seat, even rear-facing. Costs much less than comparable seats with similar features. And only takes up 31” front to back when rear-facing; less than many others. Slim enough that I can fit 2 rear- facing in a Prius & still pull down the center console in between! Britax always performs amazingly in safety tests. This has a lot of safety features like the steel reinforced frame and the crumple zone material under the seat for impact absorption in a crash. It also has side protection around the head. But it’s about half the weight of seats with similar features. I love that the material has less chemicals and is machine washable. The crotch buckle tab that keeps the buckle from being under your kid is awesome! No digging under little tushies for that buckle! And there are little Velcro tabs that keep the shoulder harnesses out of the way, too. The no-rethread harness is great, but I do find it difficult to change when installed rear- facing. Overall very easy to use and cost-effective enough to get for twins.

The instructions are very unclear on how to achieve the correct recline angle for infants. It needs to recline more than the straight line indicator would lead you to believe to achieve the correct 45 degree angle. Even after figuring that out, it was very difficult to achieve the correct angle in our Honda CR-V and required additional material to prop the seat up. Even then, we were still 5 degrees short. That, in addition to the infant positioning pillow, caused our baby's head to push forward onto her chest in a way that seemed unsafe. We will keep it for when she gets bigger, but in the meantime we decided to switch to an infant car seat to ensure she is comfortable and safe.

We are super happy with the quality of this seat. Very comfortable for those long car rides!

This is a very nice car seat and I can tell by how it’s built and the cushioning that it is made with safety in mind. I did not understand other reviews that said it didn’t recline but now I know what they meant. Even when it is reclined all the way (the only recline option), when it is completely tightened it sits up straight completely in my husbands 2017 Ford F-150 platinum. It is secure but when my 20lb 15 month old is placed in it he has practically no leg room and he is sitting completely straight up. Plus he is a hot pocket and the material is very thick and gets too hot in this Texas heat.

Lots of padding, fits great rear facing in small backseat.

I bought this for my son 1 year old and i like a lot. Easy to set up and very quick.

Not the cheapest but when you consider its good till 65 lbs and 49" so the difference between it and cheaper seats turns out to be a few dollars more a year, small price to pay for safety! Love Britax as it well made. Sturdy with steel enclosure and lots of padding. Very well made harness. Easy to install and fits snugly into car. Harness takes some muscle to tighten properly but well worth the sense of security. Feels like a very safe seat. Not possible to rate impact protection at this time and hope I never do, but it feels as if protection would be very good, ratings say it is.

I just bought this 5 days ago. It was easy to understand directions and install. But it smells really bad. The package was sealed, the bag around it was even air tight. Not sure what could have happened, but it smells like urine. I used it the day after I got it. My daughters clothes ended up smelling like it as well. The smell transferred. So far I am not a happy camper. Not very happy with my purchase yet. I will give it time to air out completely though. Although I still don't like that I would have spent so much on a smelly seat. It looks like the construction is well made, and that is the only reason I may stick with it. My daughters safety is most important. Her head doesn't fall forward like other car seats I have had for other children. Also the belts come up from the bottom in an odd place, they either cover the whole thigh or I have to tuck them in so she can move her legs freely, but then the velcro is scratching her skin. Lose-Lose. Just not happy with this purchase yet.

Upon opening the box my first impression was that it was a very sturdy car seat that felt like it was built with safety and comfort in mind, but not portability or a compact size. The padding was very nice, although the head rests have very stiff pieces under the padding that feel a little uncomfortable to me, but my child didn't seem to mind. I like how the reclining adjustment is easy to get to, its a little hard to move at times (putting in the car and adjusting was a little tricky for rear facing) but I like the idea. I also like the fact that adjusting the height of the shoulder straps is done by pulling up on the handle as opposed to having to take off the cover and pull the straps though like other car seats. It is heavy and bulky so it isn't the kind of car seat you want to have to move between vehicles. It also might not work well if you have a small car-especially for rear facing as it may hit the back of the seat in front of it. I have an SUV and it is full of kids in car seats, boosters, and without anything, so this was not the easiest fit as it is a bit wide. Over all I feel like it is made well and has nice safely features- I also like how the straps are covered with a thin rubber piece instead of those thick fabric things. It was a little tough to get it into my car, especially the center seat. When I moved it to a window seat, it was a little easier. The latch system is really nice so I didn't bother trying to install it using the seat belt method. As mentioned before, it is a little on the heavy and bulky size, so I felt like I kind of had to really struggle with that in the install versus a lighter smaller seat. My fave feature by far is how easy it is to adjust the height of the shoulder straps. It is so frustrating to put you child in a seat only to realize after they are buckled that the straps are too low- in other seats I have had, You have to take the child out, pull the straps off and it can be another 10-15 minutes before it is all put back together to install! The Emblem just has a handle and within seconds, the straps are adjusted comfortably.

It is not bulky like other items I have tested out. The cover is extremely easy to clean and wasn’t difficult to install at all. Our 10 month old is in it and never falls asleep in car seats.. I mean never. He has fallen asleep MULTIPLE times in this. The seats are very comfortable and I feel very safe with the extra side impacts around his head. Britax never disappoints so I’m not surprised that I loved this! Cannot wait to use this in our little guys next stage!

I was able to install the car seat on my own without my husbands help. The latch connectors made the installation so easy and secure. My daughter is using the car seat rear facing for now and this is great for her to grow into. You can remove the fabric to wash which is a huge plus for me. It comes with a pillow that is removable and I definitely would've used it if she was a newborn. I do want to note the car seat does not come with a cup holder attached. I appreciate the sleek design and look of it overall.
