From a Mom of 2 after a car vomit episode: Shoulder pads are not removable to wash! Yes you read that right. I own 2 Britax Boulevard seats, and purchased 2 of these Britax Poplar seats. The Poplar does not live up to the previous, discontinued model. Here’s why: non-removable shoulder pads, strap loosening button is hard to find each time, straps get so twisted behind the shoulder thread I have to uninstall to correct, crotch buckle is so hard to pull out every time, and fabric is more complicated and difficult to remove and replace for wash. None of these are issues with my Britax Boulevards. PRO: easy and secure install each time
I wanted to love this car seat so much :-(

I wanted to love this car seat so bad! I did a lot of research when stepping our 20 month old up from her infant car seat. There was just some things with the Poplar car seat that were a deal breaker for us and we are returning. Negatives: the back pad of the car seat (not removable) is so plush, it pushed our child’s back forward and as a result her neck and head could never properly rest on the back of the car seat. She always looked uncomfortable when sitting upright. Second deal break for us was the adjustable recline. You can only adjust this when the seat is not locked in into place. So if your child falls asleep on a road trip and their head is dangling forward you can’t recline them without taking them out and unlatching the whole car seat or planning ahead to recline it but our child didn’t like behind reclined back unless she was asleep. The last negative, which wasn’t a huge deal, but was annoying, was the button to loosen the straps is hard to locate. Even after weeks of use, I was still fumbling to find it every time (it’s located under all the padding). The positives of this car seat is it’s very safe, built well, slim fit, removable cup holders, soft, and stylish. We will unfortunately be returning after a lot of consideration and getting the Chico 360 forever car seat our other child has. I want to be able to recline them during a nap in the car. No other reviews I read stated this so I wanted to be sure to write one if this is something important for your family when on the road.
Sadly I have to return an almost perfect car seat! Only one issue is the seatbelt buckle.

I love everything about this car seat EXCEPT for the design of seat belt buckle. The buckle digs into my daughters thighs really bad. Everything else is perfect!
Our favorite!

This is our third britax seat and by far the favorite. Easiest straps to tighten. And the clicktight makes it very easy to install and uninstall. Also love that the cup holders are included!

We recently got this seat as our daughter was outgrowing her infant seat and we’re in love! It’s so beautiful and comfy. We picked the S as there was more cushion/padding included and I’m glad we did. We did notice that Britax car seats tend to have shorter crotch straps, but she still fits in this comfortably And has no problems with the buckle. I’d highly recommend this seat!!
Great quality! Easy to install!

The car seat is very nice quality. Out of the box you can see a lot of labeling for where things should go and how to install. The instructions are very simple and when I wanted a visual example there are several on YouTube. After following the YouTube video I had the car seat installed and used the recommended seat belt method. Using the seatbelt was even less intimidating than the lower anchors because of the click tight technology. One of the biggest draws of this car seat was the promise of front to back space saving. It is a much better fit than our maxi-cosi infant car seat. Thankful it still seems very roomy for the baby. The only negative I ran into is that we are using this for our 40 percentile 5 month old and I wasn’t sure if the harness pads needed to be used for her. (They don’t). After some searching and googling I was able to find the answer.

Love this seat! I love the slim design of the Poplar! We have loved the clicktight feature on all of our Britax seats (this is our third seat) and we have not been disappointed! The Poplar will provide a lot of flexibility when transporting 3 across. Very happy with this purchase! I provided this Honest and True Product Review in exchange for a rebate on my purchase.

Installing this car seat was a breeze and I really took a liking to this click-tight system- makes me confident that my baby is riding safely. The cushions look way more luxurious in person than in pictures and I see the Poplar lasting for several stages. Aside from being a convertible car seat, that will transition to forward facing, it has a lot of head positions so if my baby needs the height i'm certain it will accommodate! It's nice that the Poplar is set up so you can add the stability bar if you're fixated on that. My only wish is that Britax made a way to add a canopy for extra shade like many infant car seats already come with. We wanted to wait for this review until after our big up-north trip, and I am SO happy I did because it was AMAZING! My daughter who NEVER naps anymore since being forward facing, napped half the trip because she was so comfortable! The ClickTight installation system is a game-changer. It makes installing the seat so easy and secure—no more wrestling with seat belts or worrying if it’s in right. The built-in lock-offs and LATCH connectors are straightforward, making the whole process quick and hassle-free. My daughter loves this seat! It’s super padded and comfy. The adjustable headrest and harness will grow with her, so she’s always snug and happy. Plus, there are multiple recline positions for rear-facing babes. The Britax Poplar has a nice compact design. It’s roomy enough for my daughter but doesn’t take up too much space in the car. It would definitely fit well in smaller cars, and even in our large SUV we needed a seat that could fit with multiple in the 3rd row. Overall, I’m super happy with the Britax Poplar car seat. It’s easy to install, super comfortable for my daughter, and fits well in my car. Highly recommend! I provided this Honest and True Product Review in exchange for a rebate on my purchase.
VERY COOL SEAT; A Couple Questions, But Adorable Overall

It's not heavy. The reviews saying it's heavy are comparing it to what? I have owned two other brands of new convertible carseats before this one, and they all weigh about the same including Maxi-Cosi. Maxi is a bit heavier actually but not an issue. I am pretty strong and 5'8" so maybe it just is easier for me to lift and carry than my friend who is a grown man and bigger than me and said this was heavy. Cons: it kind of rocks on itself if that makes sense because rear-facing it is top-heavy with the protruding plastic beneath like a track--it's super annoying but if I switch my 40 lb 2-yr-old to front-facing I can get it to be more secure using the triangle tether. Pro: the triangle tether/anchor is the best thing in the world. Another con: it's a bit narrow for my personal preference since we won't be having more kids lol just our one baby boy we do not need to fit three across or anything. As parents we both have medium size SUV's so no need for this manufacturer to make these "sleek" and slimmer than ones past (in my opinion). Con: I paid full price which wasn't bad but for that amount $300 basically, I was surprised it has the tracks beneath sticking out, pushing into my car middle seat but mostly creating a tilt. Maybe it's designed like that for the bucket seats, but I like to keep our son in the middle in the event of God forbid a T-bone accident. Pro: the lux feel and look I was going for, with the best safety ratings. Rear-facing longer option. Gorgeous Blue that I get compliments on. Another favorite thing about this seat is your baby and toddler will be reclined enough that when they sleep their head won't roll forward like in the cheaper carseats! Whether in position 1, 2, or 3 it is a healthy design and reasonable amount of recline no matter what. Con: I wish it was a little more clear on installation as I wasn't positive if I should be letting it ratchet in the SUV seat belt before closing down the click-tight, or after...hope that makes sense. I determined that your baby will be secure either way, and probably need to close it before fully ratcheting locked within your actual car belt housing. Otherwise belt might sit up making it near impossible to shut the seat/click-tight. For those who don't know it's basically the bottom part of the seat raises up completely for the belt path and then closes on it so securely that there is zero chance of separation between shoulder and lap sections, if that makes sense. Because that could cause a sliding or major tilt which happens in cheaper seats. Pro: the box it comes in is worth $300 alone Lol because my son has had so much fun playing with it!!!! *use caution with box, not to be climbed on Enjoy!

I have been a fan of Britax since I purchased our first Britax three years ago. When Britax came out with the Poplar, I knew I would be a fan. We needed a convertible seat for our 10 month old and this was the perfect choice. I am so impressed the comfort, sturdiness, and extra convenience features this seat has. I wanted to like it.. but it has some flaws. The harness pads are bulky as is the infant insert that must be used until 22 pounds. The harness pads aren’t removable either, only able to be tucked away. The harness button is a little awkwardly tucked away as well. Install is super easy though and it’s fairly compact overall. I ended up returning it.

Don’t believe the hype reviews-they are all by people who received the seat for free in exchange for a review. It is SO heavy and extremely hard to find the harness adjuster as well as the button to the belt path. My one year old sits uncomfortable in it due to the padding. Wouldn’t buy this again.

This is my first narrow car seat and I’m happy with it, there are just a few things I don’t love. I initially bought it for my youngest, so I set it up for her. The shoulder pads are only to be used for certain ages, so I had to remove them for her. I like the idea of them not being able to come completely off, but the storage spot was hard to figure out. My plans changed since my youngest still fits in her infant seat so I adjusted the seat for my oldest. I put the pads back on and adjusted it for forward facing instead. I don’t love the set up for the forward facing strap. I put this in a GMC Yukon and had to make it way longer, then moved it to a Chevy 2500 which had to be as short as possible. The strap is not very easy to adjust when you’re in tight quarters. Everything else I’ve loved about the seat. Super easy to adjust the buckle placement, recline, height, etc. I love the ease of installment with the ClickTight system. That is what sold me on the Britax brand to begin with. Both kids were very comfortable in the seat; I found my youngest sitting in it all the time before I got it installed in the vehicle. I provided this honest and true review in exchange for a rebate on my purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very good car seat. It was easy to install, easy to adjust and it is very sturdy and secure. I like the dark color of this, it’s good for either gender of baby and will grow with them
