Britax Poplar S 2-in-1 Design with ClickTight Technology Convertible Car Seat

The Ruby Onyx color does NOT look red in person. It’s a pinkish purple. Definitely disappointed with that. Overall, it’s a good seat. My son finds it to be comfortable, it installs easy because of their one click system. It is pretty bulky and heavy if you have to switch it from car to car. The strap covers are NOT removable. Like, not even to wash them, i don’t think. Overall I don’t hate it but I’ll be looking for another seat to use as his main, will use this one for backup.

The seat is very comfortable and the fabrics are nice. It is a more breathable seat than others. The click tight technology makes for an easy installation, though it is more difficult to close the bottom of the seat than anticipated. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to secure a baby in a this seat. The strap covers (which seem amazingly comfortable overall) have a almost rubber type of backing to them that irritates little ones. Somehow, our straps never seemed to be even, and no matter what I've done, I can't get the straps tightened just right. They're either too loose (to where I can pinch the webbing) or too tight and make my little one uncomfortable and leave marks. This problem has gotten more difficult as he has gotten bigger. I've also had some problems with the recline that I contacted the company about, but have simply not heard anything back. I really wanted to love this seat, and in many ways, it's nice; it simply misses the mark.

This is our 8th Britax car seat, so we love the brand, just not this particular seat. Loosening and tightening the harness is more difficult than it should be, the lever to hold while loosening the straps is buried under layers of fabric and the strap to tighten them is against the seat of the car. Our baby gets car sick often and it is a nightmare to clean. The shoulder pads are not removable, so we cannot wash the smell out of them. I do not believe the straps or favorite around the rebound bar are removable either, if they are, we haven’t figured it out. The pieces that do come off don’t go back on as nicely, so we have an expensive car seat that looks and smells awful. The click tight function seems to be very temperamental compared to our other click tight car seats and I find myself having to manually unlock the bottom of the seat before pushing it down. The head rest adjust nicely, and it looks very cushy. If knew 9 months ago what I now, I would have kept our marathon opted for another brand.

When our previous convertible car seat was recalled, I began looking for a replacement option. I had always heard Britax was a reliable brand and was drawn to the 50lb rear facing limit of the Poplar. The click tight technology makes for an extremely easy installation and the seat feels very tight and secure once installed. My son seems comfortable and I like that the sides are slight lower than our previous seat, which makes it easier to get him in and out. The only negative I’ve run into so far (which is more just an adjustment vs. our previous car seat) is that the harness release button is sometimes hard for me to find/reach. This car seat is cushioned in all the right places and it's very sturdy. It's feels super safe with the anchors and the seat belt it's not super bulky it gives me more room than my last car seat. My kid sleeps beautifully with the recline her head doesn't fall forward I love it!

THIS IS THE ONE!!! I was recently in a car accident and the Britax One4life help up perfectly (and my Graco disappointed)! I decided to replace them both with the new Poplar S model Britax released. These are sturdy, safe and the EASIEST install with the click tight technology! I love this so much I would work for Britax and share my story. Look how I can fit 2 next to each other in the back of a Toyota Camry and still have a 3rd seat open for a passenger! I’m telling you, this is the one if safety, space and ease of installation is important to you. It is heavy, but that’s because it’s steel and needs to be safe for your babe. Believe me, in an accident you will thank yourself for this purchase and peace of mind!

I couldn’t hate this seat more if I tried! The strap covers are not removable so keep that in mind when purchasing. We’ve only had ours for about 4 months and I’m already on the hunt for a new seat. My 9 month old has spit up on the strap covers and we have tried everything and can’t get the smell out. It’s driving me crazy!

Our girl was outgrowing her infant seat and we were struggling finding a good convertible seat for her that was safe and comfortable. I love the extra padding and the anti rebound bar for rear facing. The color is beautiful and it washes/wipes off so well. I love that the padding and cover is washable too!! Our girl didn’t seem to like her infant seat very much and she seems to love this seat, so I’d say it’s comfortable for her! Overall I’m very happy with our purchase.

We recently got this seat as our daughter was outgrowing her infant seat and we’re in love! It’s so beautiful and comfy. We picked the S as there was more cushion/padding included and I’m glad we did. We did notice that Britax car seats tend to have shorter crotch straps, but she still fits in this comfortably And has no problems with the buckle. I’d highly recommend this seat!!

The car seat is very nice quality. Out of the box you can see a lot of labeling for where things should go and how to install. The instructions are very simple and when I wanted a visual example there are several on YouTube. After following the YouTube video I had the car seat installed and used the recommended seat belt method. Using the seatbelt was even less intimidating than the lower anchors because of the click tight technology. One of the biggest draws of this car seat was the promise of front to back space saving. It is a much better fit than our maxi-cosi infant car seat. Thankful it still seems very roomy for the baby. The only negative I ran into is that we are using this for our 40 percentile 5 month old and I wasn’t sure if the harness pads needed to be used for her. (They don’t). After some searching and googling I was able to find the answer.

Love this seat! I love the slim design of the Poplar! We have loved the clicktight feature on all of our Britax seats (this is our third seat) and we have not been disappointed! Installing this car seat was a breeze and I really took a liking to this click-tight system- makes me confident that my baby is riding safely. The cushions look way more luxurious in person than in pictures and I see the Poplar lasting for several stages. Aside from being a convertible car seat, that will transition to forward facing, it has a lot of head positions so if my baby needs the height i'm certain it will accommodate! It's nice that the Poplar is set up so you can add the stability bar if you're fixated on that. My only wish is that Britax made a way to add a canopy for extra shade like many infant car seats already come with. Like: Easy to install and compact. Click right is very user friendly and secure. It fits great in our Jeep wrangler (compact backseat) Dislike: Cup holders are difficult to install and shoulder strap padding cannot be removed.

We wanted to wait for this review until after our big up-north trip, and I am SO happy I did because it was AMAZING! My daughter who NEVER naps anymore since being forward facing, napped half the trip because she was so comfortable! The ClickTight installation system is a game-changer. The built-in lock-offs and LATCH connectors are straightforward, making the whole process quick and hassle-free. My daughter loves this seat! It’s super padded and comfy. It’s roomy enough for my daughter but doesn’t take up too much space in the car.
