These have made my life so much easier!! These are perfect for keeping My seedlings from constantly falling over and allow me to quickly water my 14 seedling trays before I leave for work at 5 AM. The Green trays that hold 16 Seedlings are very nice as well. I use a combination of the orange trays (8 count) and the green trays (16 count). They are perfect for Rockwool. The trays are a two piece so I can conveniently wash out the bottom tray so that my nutrient water stays clean. I love the ability to push up from the bottom of each plant so that I don’t have to pull my seedlings up from the plant itself and risk damaging the roots. The numbering system on the containers also help me to keep track of which plant is in which hole. Although I have lost track on a few so there will be surprises on the tower gardens. LOL They also fit nicely in some of the plastic containers that I can put a dome on for germination.
Work well

I got them about a month ago now. Filling them with Berpees organic starter, easy to fill. Went so smoothly, put my Berpees seeds as directed on seed packets. Now it's time to water. Can I just tell you water soaked in easily no run off like other seed starting planters. I have them in a inside greenhouse in there trays. Can not believe that in less than a week, a couple of days seedling started coming up already. The cells do not sit in extra water that comes out of the 4 side holes in each cell, it is slightly raised higher. I can not speak enough about these. Then you add to it I'll be able to use the for ever because they are dishwasher safe. Keeping them healthy from year to year. Amazing!!!!
A good idea to buy !

Planted some starter herbs in my windowsill garden and they're thriving. It's numbered so you can keep track of your plants and comes with a cover for the drain

I bought this few weeks ago, like the idea but was missing 1 of the silicone pop-ups 2-C to be precise, which was hidden by the label. So I will use it as a 7 plant tray
Silicone is tearing; this the 2nd season of use.

Ok I love these trays they are the best starting cells I have found, and I have been starting my seeds for 40 years. The only thing that is lacking is some sort of cover for when you first start the seeds. Covering them with something you have causes the dripping of the condensation. COVERS ARE NEEDED.

I bought these and the 16 cell version. They are great! Love that they are dish washer safe (top shelf). Haven't tested that out yet but will after I use them this season. I only gave the product a rating of 4 because I didn't see any options to purchase dome coverings for these.
Fantastic Product that is gentle to tender seedlings

I absolutely love these! They work beautifully and are gentle to tender seedlings for transplanting. I love the catch tray which is a nice feature, and the soft bottom makes transplanting very easy. Mine have lasted several years with continuous use. I have all the sizes but use the 8 and 12 most, so I don't have to transplant too soon.

These seed starting trays are amazing, I bought 6, all of my seeds germinated and have great root systems, I know another person said they wish it had a cover, I use the press and seal wrap, poke a couple holes in the top to start my seeds on a heat mat, definitely recommend these!

I live in the city and it’s hard to have seed starters that are easy to place inside the house. Absolutely love these trays. I love the silicone bottoms, but I wonder if it would be possible to have a whole tray like that. It seems more durable than the semi clear plastic

I really like this tray but after a few uses it started to smell mildewy. I've used it at least 6 times (maybe more) for different types of seeds, last year and this. I've tried to ignore the smell but finally decided to try soaking with a little bleach in the water. It helped, but not totally. It still smells. So far the smell hasn't affected the seedlings so I will be using it again.

Love these trays! I bought them because I liked the idea of durable long-term reusable starting trays. I recently used them to plan my vegetable starts. I while I think I knew they didn't have a lid when I purchased them, after planting I was left wishing they had a lid so I didn't have to figure out how to cover them without using plastic wrap. I hope burpee upgrades future products to include a lid AND I hope they create a lid for purchase of already existing trays. I'd be more than happy to buy lids for my trays!
Simplicity at its best

I just bought this seed starting tray, and I really wanted to compliment Burpee on how wonderfully simple and efficient this product is - I bought it thanks to it being reusable and sturdy, choosing the narrow 8 cell size to fit on my kitchen windowsill (designed to be the perfect size for a windowsill? I wouldn’t be surprised!). I noticed after bringing it home the stamped letters and numbers to allow recording of which cell has which seeds - smart design, couldn’t be easier! It is all too easy to add feature after feature until a product is fussy or difficult to use - or too expensive to justify! This one, on the other hand, has had all the excess fine tuned away leaving the sleekest most useful essentials at a very friendly price point. Two (hopefully green) thumbs up!!

I bought 3 of these in late winter for starting my vegetable seeds, and I have used them continuously all summer for succession planting. I absolutely love them. It's so much easier to get the plants out, and I will be able to reuse them for years to come.
Am using for perennials from seed. It’s ideal

Have thinned Shasta Daisy seedlings to 2-3 per cell and am letting them grow longer. There’s ample room per cell for more root development before moving the plantlets to pots.

I bought this to try because I’m tired of always wasting the biodegradable pots. I’m in zone 11, Hawaii, so I don’t need the greenhouse thing or worry about frost. It was easy to get started. All I did was throw some dirt in the pots, put a box underneath it to catch the dirt that I spilled, and water the dirt before planting my cucumber seeds. A few days later it was sprouting. I’m not even 10 days in since starting the seeds and i have nice roots coming out of the bottom. I am currently waiting for a set of true leaves to pop out before I transplant it into my SFG. There’s not much room for me to keep them in there longer and I don’t want those roots to get tangled. Seems easy right now to pop them out. We shall see in a couple of days.

I bought this thinking that it had a lid. I love how sturdy it is and the silicone bottoms are great. I would be more than happy to purchase a dome lid if they become available!!!
