A: The simple answer is absolutely NOT! There are no bleach or glue or other inedible chemicals that would ever be used in the production of food product. Unfortunately this is the kind of silly information that is out on the internet and it is absolutely untrue. I bought these faithfully for dogs. They like them a lot. Something in them changed in the texture and now I have a dog with lymphoma. I’m not saying that these treats caused it, but I would never buy them for any of my dogs again. Beware of all the treats you give your dogs. Perhaps it’s time we all learn to make healthy treats ourselves.

First and foremost we are very sorry to hear about your dog. Hopefully with appropriate treatment he is able to live a long and happy life. We are unsure as to how the blame for your dog's illness comes to rawhide as truthfully there are no harmful chemicals used in the process and these treats are far healthier than many so-called natural or formulated treats available in the market. Texture of course changes because these are natural products rolled by hand and therefore depending on which side of the beefhide is facing out or in, it can appear to be a different texture but that is literally just a function of the nature of beefhide We would to glad to chat with you if you would like to call the number on the package. I have been buying these for years. The last few bags the bones are so light and there isn’t much to them anymore, my dog eats it in 2 min. Use to take her at least 20.

My 90 lb black lab loves these bones! He has gotten one a day for over year and have had no problems! These are great for a 10 min treat, smaller than typical hefty rawhides but perfect for daily treats!

My dog is about 75 lbs and demands a treat every night! These worked perfectly. She sometimes has trouble digesting rawhide, but these were great because she wasn’t able to pull off any small pieces!
