A: The steam heats the milk. If you use a stainless steel cup, when you cant hold your fingers against it for longer than 3 seconds you are done. Thats how hot the milk gets

Q: Can you make an iced caramel macchiato with this machine? Sorry if the question is dumb, but I’ve always just bought and iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks.

A: I worked at Starbucks. A macchiato just means “shot poured on top” so all you need to make a caramel macchiato is to add caramel syrup/flavor into a cup, then add milk (steamed or cold), pour the shot over the milk, then use caramel syrup to layer over it all

Makes good double expresso latte. Be sure to do 1 cup no coffee pre heat and flush wand till steam comes out. Wish the tamper was metal instead of cheap plastic. Well made and great price.

I LOVE my Casabrews CM5418! I’ve had many different espresso machines over the years, but none compare to my new Casabrews. I love it’s small profile, it’s ease of use(it only has 4 buttons) and that it doesn’t make a lot of beeping noises like many other machines. It truly makes a great espresso Crema. It also makes beautiful Steamed milk for my lattes. I love the large water reservoir it has for such a small machine. For the price of the machine and the quality of the espresso and steamed milk it makes, it truly is a gem!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After flushing the espresso function and steamer with water, I prepared my first espresso which turned out perfect with its frothy crema. The steamer worked great (must wait a minute or so after making the espresso) to make cappuccinos. Now I use the double shot daily to add to my turmeric latte. Exquisite!

This makes very good espresso for the money. However, you do need to run hot water for about 8 seconds (as recommended by Casabrews) before pulling a shot. In addition, when you go to steam/froth your milk of choice, a fair amount of hot water comes out of the wand before the steam starts. I have perfected operations by having a cup catch the water and then put the milk pitcher under the steaming wand just before the steam starts. If you want a no fuss espresso maker then this isn't the one. If you want a very good for the money espresso machine and are willing to work through the quirks, I highly recommend

So I say ‘Almost’ because while this is a gorgeous machine- the biggest issue I have is that the locking and unlocking of the actual coffee grounds holder is stiff so you have to physically hold the machine with one hand while you lock or unlock the holder into place. Very annoying but not much can be done. I have it on a silicone gorilla mat to keep it non slip on the coffee bar and that helps a little.

My first espresso machine, had great reviews so tried it for the affordable price. 1 week in and im loving it! Still testing my abilities with it but perfect small size, easy to use and figure out, and makes me happy! Loving my coffees way way more than any of my kcup or standard cups. Feels as great as a high end machine but im just a starter and keeps me from running to the coffee shops as much!

I bought this machine based on a really good reviews through social media and other websites. But, now I’m very disappointed & returning the item. After the arrival, I opened it and followed the instructions, and tried my first shot, and the base (where the cup stands) started shaking, and the cup moved around, I had to hold it, to make it stay in place. Tried it for 3 days, couple times each day and the same issue kept happening. Also, while placing the portafilter I had to hold the whole machine to attach it, very frustrating. I used to make my coffee using Delonghi machine while visiting my family, is a way more stable & easier to use. Don’t recommend it, it’s not worth the wasting of your time and money.

Taste of the coffee is very good, but even with the pre warming, it’s not very hot. It is inordinately difficult to make two cups in a row, unfortunately.

Yes, I'm that guy. I roast my own bean, grind it with a commecial grinder, and my primary espresso machine is an Italian made prosumer machine. Think coffee shop quality. For the last 4 years, my wife and I have started doing more traveling in our RV, so I decided to look for a small espresso machine that would give a close experience to my home unit. I think I found a great compromise with the Casabrews machine. Granted it isn't close in quality of my prosumer, but what do you expect at this price point. However, the quality of the espresso from this machine is remarkably good. This machine will do well at getting me by until I return home with only a little sacrifice.

The machine is easy to use and makes good coffee. I also love the design (I have the cream version). However, the plastic part inside the handle broke after one month of use. It still works to some extent but not well. I have no way to get the part replaced through Target which only offers full refunds which is frustrating because I do not want to send the whole machine back...
