You're right. It doesn't blend, it does leave a cast: that's how it works. It leaves a layer of protection for the sun's rays to bounce off of. If it didn't leave a cast, it wouldn't work.

I suppose if you’re using this product as a base it works well. It feels lovely on the face. However, it left such a bad white cast on my face (half Caucasian/half East Asian) I had to bust out my face tint to not look like a vampire.

I had high hopes for this sunscreen and was unfortunately disappointed. I will say that this did not irritate my skin or break me out, largely thanks to the mineral formula. I also liked the squeeze tube. However, this sunscreen is pretty bad. It is thick and the white cast is awful. It is more affordable, but there are much better products out there for a similar price. I’m very pale and this sunscreen gave me a white cast on my skin. It made me look like casper… so white it made me teeth look yellow against my skin. Not flattering. If it doesn’t look nice in my super pale skin, then it will likely not work of darker complexions either.

Yes, this is safe for sensitive skin, and it will keep you protected from the Sun. But it absolutely leaves a white cast on the skin. I have very pale skin, think like the first one or two colors on the foundation scale pale skin, and the white cast is very noticeable even on my skin. And this is despite trying every trick in the book to try to reduce white cast. The only way you're going to avoid the white cast is if you don't apply enough sunscreen to be protective, which rather defeats the point. Also, well I don't know that I would call it a greasy feeling, your skin is definitely quite tacky afterwards. There are other brands that have done a better job of making sensitive skin sunscreens that don't leave a white cast, so if that is important to you, would not recommend this particular sunscreen.

Horrible product, it is way too thick and makes my face look dry and grey from the white cast. Even tried mixing it with another Sun screen to see it would thin out and work better, NOPE!

This is the worst facial sunscreen ever. It is heavy and leaves a white coating on your skin that will not blend in. It was a complete waste of money. I ended up throwing it away and will never buy a Cerave product again.

It protects face from sun. But. My face is completely white, it has terrible white cast. It has thick texture and its bit hard to apply at face. And it is not easily washable. So the only place where I can use it is pool or beach, not for every day usage.

I'd rather have a white cast than a bunch of ingredients I am not comfortable with. Mineral ingredients such as Titanium Dioxide and Zinc, tend to leave a whiteish cast on the skin. For me this is fine, the product is great, nice on my skin, does the job, fair princing. Will recommend, however, if you want a clear finish, turn your head and pick something non-mineral, perhaps with Homosalate, Avobenzone, Octisalate, these tend to be chemically formulated not to leave a cast on the skin.

I’m not sure how this product is still out there. I have light skin but with this I look purplish white, it’s so bad. I guess I didn’t read the recipe but it’s going in the trash since I threw away the box.
