Q: Would these accept acrylic or watercolor paints?
submitted by On Angel Wings - 2 months ago
A: Chinet Classic plates are made from molded fibers and will not support acrylic or watercolor paint. Check out our Chinet Crystal line of plates that would be best for holding paint. Cheers!

Hi! No one likes a soggy party, and this one is on us. Chinet Classic® plates and bowls are made from pre-consumer recycled material and pressed into form. We love using recycled materials, but it means we are constantly re-evaluating and optimizing the manufacturing process. Because of that, you didn't get our best product, and we apologize. We are working to correct the issue. In the meantime, feel free to contact a representative by email at MyLife@mychinet.com or call 1-800-847-4129. Thank you!

Stained my table top. It's like wax or some kind of glue. I can't get it off the surface of my dinning table. Looks horrible.

Quality of classic 10 3/8” plates have diminished

Long-time user now disappointed in apparent diminished quality of the Classic 10 3/8” plates. Plates seem thinner, lack a surface sheen, & now collapse from minimal moisture when used to microwave individual frozen food items, & when used as a cover or under a bowl to reheat food. Also food now sticks to the eating surface of the plate. We have not changed what we microwave, or how used & the difference is the quality of the product. I can no longer recommend this product & will stop buying.

Ope! Sounds like a party foul on our part. Here's the truth—Chinet Classic® products are made from pre-consumer recycled material and pressed into form. We love using recycled materials, but it means we are constantly re-evaluating and optimizing the manufacturing process. Recently, all Chinet Classic® molded fiber tableware transitioned to a new Oil & Grease Resistant (OGR) barrier technology. Because of that, you didn't get our best product, and we apologize. We are working to correct the issue. In the meantime, feel free to contact a representative by email at MyLife@mychinet.com or call 1-800-847-4129. Thank you!

I have been using these plates for many many years. No in the last year chinet plates are thin, bent out of shape out of the bag, don't have flat surface on the entire center and more importantly they soak through and change shape with the least amount of moisture. Why did you ruin something made the same way for who knows how many years?

Chinet Plates going downhill

I have for many years lived eating off these plates most days. Now - every bag is bad. Plates are stained in some cases. The plates are not as thick as they used to be - every one is wrinkled and bent out of shape - they with the smallest amount of moisture are useless and soak through. What have you done to these plates that HAD been made the same way for decades??

I couldn't figure out why my dish cabinet stunk so badly, until I finally realized that my stack of Chinet plates are giving off the WORST smell. The closest comparison I can make is to rotting seafood. These were newly-purchased and I am hopping mad. They are completely unusable. Where in the heck is your quality control, Chinet??

The quality of Chinet plates has markedly declined. They bend with any weight and they are no longer leak proof. They become floppy and undependable with any liquid or grease. This will be the last Chinet product I buy. It’s not Chinet, it’s a poor quality has been.

I like the size of this plate. We have a lake place and these plates are strong and hold a burger, potato salad, and fruit nicely. They fit nicely into the cupboard without taking up so much space and they are eco- friendly.

My favorite brand of paper plates. However, not as durable as they used to me. I’m finding myself needing to double up for certain meals like spaghetti or creamy pasta. I’ll continue buying for now and as long as target offers the home products gift card promotion.
