Assembly was fairly easy but you should have a drill to attach the foot rests. Also, they are incredibly slippery. They slide all over on our laminate flooring and need anti slip grips for the bottoms of the legs. Seem to be sturdy.

It had stains on the seat and when I called target online to let them know they gave me a hard time. Returned the stools and going to purchase them somewhere else.
