Q: Are both piece of this cake stand/dome dishwasher safe? If not, why not? It's glass, but I notice it says to hand wash. Why is that?

The base is not straight. It is tilted. I decorated the cake and wondered why my cake looked so tilted and then realized the cake stand is not straight. Can't even return the item because I already used it and threw the box already.

I received this cake stand as a gift . The box says 2 pieces set but mine is in 3 pieces. It looks like someone returned a broken set and Target just put it back on the shelf. The top seems to heavy for the base.

As far as looks this is a great beautiful piece. However even though the top is very heavy it doesn’t sit completely flat on the base so all my baked goods are getting air making them stale 😞 just really upsetting.

Arriving on my porch, this cake stand hoped to give way to present a beautifully designed cake to the family of the deceased, to show a sign of sympathy for the family. However, this is not at all what had happened. As soon as I entered the cake into the cake stand, all chaos erupted. For over 30 minutes, the glass had shut down, not being able to open. Moreover, it got up and started to sprint away from the house. My wife and I were driving for 30 minutes trying to catch up. In the end, we lost our cake and these people were not able to get their cake. What a waste of money.

My SO has started baking cakes from scratch. I think I they deserve a beautiful cake stand and was so happy to see this one at Target. It’s very high quality and made in the USA! I gave it 4/5 stars for “easy to clean” because it’s hand wash only and it’s really heavy glass.

I was hesitant to order this, based on some of the negative reviews, but in general this item had received positive reviews, and the price was reasonable. Now I’ve learned my lesson and will go with my gut next time. The pedestal was detached from the plate, and the dome has many flaws in the glass. I needed this immediately, so instead of driving back to Target I used the dome on another plate and at least it fit nicely. I have glued the pedestal to the plate with E6000 glue, as another reviewer suggested, and hope it will remain attached. If not, I’ll use it without the pedestal. This product will be ok for now, but I’ll be saving up for a higher quality item.

The heavy construction is nice. Unfortunately the plate on the base is domed to the point that I'm returning the stand. There are also noticable defects in the plate glass. Both of the these would be covered by a cake, but I would like a product free from noticable defects.

The description says this is 13" x 13" x 13.5" and it simply is NOT The plate is only 12" diameter and the dome is a mere 10.5" diameter. I'm despertately seeking a 12" dome to cover my XL pie plate This description didn't mention the dome dimensions so I was banking on the many reviews and photos that said this was XL, bigger than expected, and HOPING this (liar liar) 13" plate would have a ~12" dome. Nope. This is standard, run-of-the-mill, average size, cheap, glass cake stand. Nothing special, nothing XL Now I have to hassle with returning this. DO BETTER TARGET
