Coastal Pet Bergan Comfort Carrier - Heather Berry

We are traveling due to hurricane evacuation and use this carrier for my 16 lb dog. Dog, put her head out the small zipper pocket on the side and could not get her head out. She was choking, her tongue was hanging out. Luckily I was able to rip it to get her out. I do wonder though why it was so easy to rip.

Lasted me 3 weeks with my 4 lb dog it’s becoming a safety issue if the mesh comes off

I've had this for years and it's been fine for the very infrequent use of taking my cats to the vet. Unfortunately, this carrier seems exclusively for those fortunate enough to have a vehicle or who travel only inside an airport. If you have to actually go outside with it, it's only appropriate if it's a nice day out. This carrier is useless under any other weather condition. The generous vents and lack of any kind of optional waterproof cover mean you can't actually take it outside. So if you don't need to walk or take a bus or have to wait outside or put it down in rain or snow, it's dandy.

We have a four-pound service animal and travel quite often. We have gone through two of these carriers and they both failed in the exact same way. The entrance zippers on the front and back simply do not last. They either break or completely detach. The zipper seems also pull away as well. If they could use a better-quality zipper and sewing technique, they would have a top-notch carrier.

I?ve had this carrier for 10 years. The large allows me to carry both my Yorkies together. Before I got my second wee guy I took my older one on a flight and it fit perfectly under the seat in front of me. I use it all the time and I leave it open all the time because they love napping in it.

Back in September I was given this older when a teal-colored one for my ferret, Gus from a friend who runs a ferret rescue here in Phoenix after my other carrier from a different brand broke. Aside from one of the zippers occasionally slipping a tooth from being worn, I have to say that I am truly amazed as I had to take public transit and take Gus along with me , and your little zipper side to reach in was a lifesaver. He wanted to feel my touch and I was able to calm him without risking him trying to get out. I love the ventilation in the micro mesh screen. I use this for traveling and his training. The only other bag I have is a discrete carrier purse for when I go into stores. And at home everytime I go outside in the yard I take Gus with me in this carrier. he even sleeps in it sometimes when I have it on the bed will choose to go in it to sleep he absolutely loves this thing. You really should hit up the ferret community with these bags, this is just wonderful. And also this is all obviously going to be in my memories because I already have so many pictures of my Little Gus poking his head out of his carrier, and I would love to send you some. And one more thing the zippers they have a little fastener so they can't open up the zipper which is what these little guys can do so easily. But no not in this! Just travelled back from Fl with 2 small Boston terrier puppies. These carriers were perfect. The dogs had plenty of room and plenty of windows (screens) to look out of. The cardboard on the bottom was strong enough to support them and not fold. The sides were of the same quality and didn?t bend much at all. The carrier (small) fit very comfortably under the seat in front of my seat on Jet Blue. The dogs slept the whole ride but I like the fact it had a half zipper window to be able to unzip and pet the dog. This was a great purchase.

I bought this bag because it had the ability to be attached to the car seatbelt. Not easy to find a pet carrier with this feature. It worked well for a couple of days but then I realized that the inside lining was already wearing out. The material used to line the bag on the inside is made of a very fine nylon which does not hold up to an animal?s claws or teeth. And it?s only been a week since we?ve own and used it. Very disappointing as it is not cheap.

I bought my Bergan carrier 8 years ago and it's still in great shape. I love that it has great airflow and visibility. Perfect for under the plane seat for travel. I can for my two Yorkies in one for local travel and my dogs use it as a safe cozy space in the house, so I never put it away. I bring it to the front door, they jump right in. I also love that it can be secured into the back seat belts. This was a big reason along with airflow for purchasing. Most highly recommend

My little one is a 5lb Yorkie. He absolutely LOVES this carrier. It's very sturdy so it doesn't collapse on the sides. The small size gives him enough room to move and turn around so he's not cramped inside. I love the extra pockets for storing his essentials. Also the shoulder strap has a couple different attachment options which makes traveling so much easier. We've flown several places using this carrier. It makes him feel so secure that he uses it daily as a bed if I'm out of the house. I'm hoping to purchase a second one to have at the office for him. The only flaw is the inside seam of the side panel zipper. It's rough/sharps so if I reach in, it leaves scratch marks on my hand.

Called the day after I'd purchased the large comfort carrier out of town. Deb was so helpful. I explained the ends buckled inward & stitching around inner zipper were very sharp & poorly sewn. She said she was sorry & would check one out before the replacement was sent. Hoping it will be fine. I love the ease of carrying our little 6lb Yorkie & love the safety of having her seat belted in her carrier on the front seat where I can pet her now & then. I wouldn't want a much bigger dog in here as she just fits. I'm believing this will be a quality product. Will follow up.

I bought the small size for my 9 month old kitten. I wasn't sure of his weight but it looked like the right size because he is very small. When I put him inside he was squished and had a hard time turning around, but he fell asleep in it right away. He really loved it. Knowing he will still grow I thought I should get the larger size. I put him on my scale and he weighed 11.5 lbs. I returned it without any issues and exchanged it for the large size. As soon as he saw the new one he was all over it. I opened the side for him and he went in, turned around a couple of times then went to sleep. He isn't squished, and there is still room for him to grow. He never sleeps in the cat bed I bought him but sleeps in this all the time. This is a great carrier! It is easy to carry and the seat belt loops are such a wonderful safety feature. I highly recommend this carrier. I only wish I had been able to find it in the black/brown colour but the berry is growing on me.
